Maybe I'm being too idealistic. I'm sort of just tired of the internet in general, because for all the knowledge sharing it once brought, it's been turned into a machine that reaches too deeply into the lives of everyone.

Self sustaining is nigh on impossible with our population density. You need an acre, maybe two, entirely dedicated to vegetables to support a couple of people. You’re at the whims of the weather, the climate, pests, disease, skill, time and energy. It’s really, really hard!

Exit poll is out in Sweden, and it looks that the Left Bloc of the opposition will win over the government bloc, with the Left and Green parties having particularly good nights. The far-right Swedish Democrats took the biggest hit of the night and look miserable. You love to see it.

I imagine we'd see an increase in community gardens to be honest, and more people going back to 'the old ways' of being self-sustaining. Honestly, I adore the mere idea of that becoming a reality. Let AI have this hellish playground, while the people thrive.

I subscribe to the theory that social breakdown happens very quickly. Watched people fighting over loafs of bread, milk and eggs when the snow cut off the village where I lived for 5 days. Local supermarket were emptied on day 3 and fights broke out with hoarders. A real eye opener.

It is quite telling how a certain tech bro jumps from “breaking the internet” to “destroying civilisation” and then “killing all humans.” Sadly I think there would be a terrible period of disruption & lawlessness if the internet was taken over by AI, but I like to think most people would survive.

Reading a 1920s French book set in England, and every paragraph is like, "She ate her dinner amidst the screeching tones of her country's traditional music. The waiter approached in his ill-fitting outfit, and offered her a dish that he supposed, in his pathetic ignorance, was some sort of dessert."

Drag Race was one of the last things my family watched on BBC TV, my daughters are obsessed with it and I have to admit it is often genuinely unhinged entertainment. It’s stuff like DR that made the BBC a bit special tbh, and we’re going to be left with an impoverished ghost by the end of the cuts.
