AI-free since and for forever. Fuck ICE, free Palestine, and do not fuck with my trans homies. (film directing, eurorack, TJPW, queer shit 💖💛💙)

Because it apparently needs to be said: I have never fucking used the AI/LLM/chatbot/plagiarism machine and I never fucking will. If you use it, I think you're a bad person.

getting tired of people on the left still launching substack newsletters after all the reporting on that company in recent years

I've spent the last few days trying to get a blu-ray rip all setup properly so I can have 3 audio streams and 2 subtitle streams all actually working in my nle and holy moly are MKVs fantastic for just watching and horrible for editing, but I've sorted it all the heck out and now it's party time.

I have been informed he is indeed, JUST A GUY. His brother wrote a shitty book and he just talks about shit he doesn't actually understand, and this is the guy everyone is shocked about using LLMs to form his personality? jfc ya'll media literacy is dead

literally never heard of Hank Green before yesterday. Ya'll are trusting a youtuber who's a "Science Communicator"? What does that even mean? Is that like if Bill Nye took 3 minute breaks to talk about his Endy mattress and the new transphobe wizard school Audible book? IS HE JUST SOME FUCKIN' GUY?

At this point you can safely assume that any fest offering “feedback” on a script is using an LLM. Even pre-2023, i wouldn’t have trusted them because, honest Q, who da fuq are they anyway? Some guy who likes movies? Touch grass, make some friends with other filmmakers and get their feedback instead

I started getting followed by some "film festivals" and "writing festivals" and thought "oh, these are cool!" Then I looked a little closer. They're all part of a network that preys on writers, charging us for reviews, and feeding our stuff into slop generators. So I made a list.👋🏻🖕🏻😠

So like 80% of games websites are going to give this thing above average-to-glowing reviews, yeah? Maybe a little handwringing about "well sure it sucks about Palmer Luckey, but..." or a "well it's not REALLY supporting fascism, it's a separate company" or maybe a "it's our job as journalists..."

The chintzy-looking M64 clone console of the N64 by a company named ModRetro has been released, I think, I don't pay attention that closely to shit. But as the great @frankcifaldi.bsky.social posted before, it is our civic duty to push back against this company and shun ANYONE who doesn't.

Sorry but there is no "cool social media platform" Cool people are outside smoking cigarettes and practicing their windmill dunk. They're not posting.

A24 is issuing takedowns for all sorts of backrooms content on social media, as well as merch elsewhere right now, that have nothing to do with the movie. I feel like a lot of people were afraid this would happen. They just... own the backrooms concept now I guess. Frustrating

That said, a lot of people complaining about respiratory issues sure don't seem to care when they're on a bus, HORKING some WET COUGH into my (masked) face and I think if we collectively cared more about respiratory health we'd be better prepared for this

I know it's like woke or something to wear a mask outside (or anytime anywhere really) but like, consider wearing one while the air quality knob has been turned to 'breathing in cancer'
