I almost died because the ER in summer 2020 was too crowded, and then in winter of 2020/21 they stopped doing elective surgeries.

Working on a new Bluesky starter pack discovery interface inside Micro.blog. It’s not comprehensive, but I think I will launch it soon as an experiment. Then later, need to figure out how to integrate it with blogrolls and (maybe) Mastodon collections.
again i don’t quite understand this because mathematics is fundamental. the platonic voice in me says let’s see the undiscovered country! no one is poorer for having skipped a few thousand years of manual effort. if there are infinite fundamentals let’s see a whole multiverse of math. why not?
Ted Underwood@tedunderwood.com · 2w agoIt won’t stop at math. Machines getting better at thinking through abstract problems than we are is going to be an emotional crisis for lots of people. I wish we were engaging that directly instead of having ridiculous shadow-debates about GPUs’ inherent thirst for water.

It's always fascinating to me that proponents of Activity Pub are always like, "Just use AP, it's better." Isn't the point of decentralization to have no single point of failure? Why doesn't that mean multiple protocols? Everyone who argues that point honestly just sounds salty to me.
