I think, in general, we devote too much time to debating 14-21 education and not enough time to life time education/training/retraining.

I liked Keir Starmer because he was steady, and didn’t say things to create soundbites. I liked how he talked about government being a service to the electorate. He often explained decisions, and most of them had a plan behind them. Words are easy, actions are harder and more complicated.

I NEVER found KS either beige or boring. He was a completely normal working class lad who worked damn hard to get where he got in life, took on the near impossible job of picking the Labour Party out of the gutter after the disastrous 2019 GE as party leader, shaking it up and leading it to victory

The day’s first casualty: James Timpson resigns as prisons minister. This is a big surprise! Timpson had a long history as a prisons reformer before entering government and seen as one of Starmer’s more innovative & exciting appointments. He’s also delivered a big change programme in gov. So: why?

This was the one minister I really wanted to remain in post. He actually cared about prisons and rehabilitation. What a tragedy.
