Trump can’t tame inflation, beat Iran, or build a ballroom, but at least he can alienate the last several Canadians who didn’t already hate our guts.

Every now and than I look at how power is generated in Alberta. Right now almost 40% of it is coming from renewables. It could be so much more and I wonder how much the mix will change with the addition of gas-powered data centres.

There are plenty of reasons to vote NO to the 9 referendum questions and YES to staying in Canada, but the more I think about it, this is a referendum on Danielle Smith’s leadership. MAKE SURE YOU VOTE. Send her a message. #AlbertaReferendum2026
Smith wants to use our friends, families, neighbours, and colleagues as props to "send Ottawa a message." By voting "no," Albertans can send her a message: enough with the scapegoating. Enough with the populist bullshit. If we don’t, you can bet we'll see a dozen more referendums targeting others.

I am lucky to live in a central urban area, near an old rail right of way that’s been converted to bike paths. That’s terrific infrastructure, too. As a local voter, I support city councillors and mayors who support bike routes. I find the “culture war” around them absurd.
A judge extended a special court order on Wednesday freezing Jeffrey Rath's assets. One legal expert says it's a rare move in this type of case. He adds Rath's fee in the original case was "fundamentally unreasonable" leading to Rath being ordered to return the money.
