I remember when the Tea Party came to power, and the difference between how they were covered/talked about while they pushed Rs to the far right and how DSA/progressive candidates are pushing Ds to the left is STARK.

Having opinions on fonts and layout design seems goofy until you attend 20+ industry conferences and see too many people fill slides with walls of tiny text few people can read or understand. And now AI slop posters. Graphic design matters.

My wife, a friend, and I had an #MtG deck trade where we each made decks for one of the others, and my wife made me a faux-UB Dune deck with "Chani" as the commander. It's all deserts and worms and it's GREAT, ilhsm!

Clear plastic containers/zip pouches are ADHD aids for me. I had an opaque cardboard box that fits my posca markers like it was built for them but I picked up a transparent pouch at the Goodwill instead bc I need to SEE THINGS (esp art supplies)!

I have discovered that Krylon spray (UV varnish) does work on tile without damaging the marker lines BUT somehow there is now a cat hair embedded on the octopus piece, even though I sprayed it OUTSIDE AWAY FROM THE CAT

I keep thinking about how often the mass layoffs in media, government and big companies, especially women and people of color, will lead to poorer outcomes for years because the people who would point out potential problems or blind spots were deemed non-essential, a "bad fit", and/or too expensive.
