Today we’re celebrating 4 years of Splatoon Stronghold! It’s crazy how fast time has flown by and how much we’ve grown since 2022. We couldn’t have done it without you all, so to show our appreciation, our Head Artist @elibvn.bsky.social has created some Cas wallpapers for the community!

It's time to tell you the truth. SSC has been dead for a long time. Let's talk. docs.google.com/document/d/e...
What Happened

Worth noting that if the apology for the gem situation involves trading which person is “the bad one,” it’s not really growth. It’s saying “I’m sorry I picked the wrong team”
If you are celebrating violence, take a moment to think of whether you still have the moral high ground. Even if you despise them, you can still be the better person and recognize that loss of life is never cause for celebration.
Now that I’m back from #riptide2025 and my TL is full of LAN sentiments, I decided to add my own piece. As both a writer and a sentimental person, I can’t speak with brevity about how much this first LAN experience meant to me, and the amount of thanks I have for everyone there. (Thread 1/8 🧵)
+4 NA Open League, >2400xp, no backline. Dm saminospl on Discord if interested.
The community involvement in the Splatoon NA League is absolutely the biggest breakthrough of this whole event. It shows that Nintendo NA is in fact invested in everything we have done and that they are still all-in on our "little" esports scene here. This feels like a decade in the making.
Did you miss the bracket yesterday? Well, check it out on a site thats got all the info about it! liquipedia.net/splatoon/Sen... S/o to @glumbaron.bsky.social for helping put it all up

Fall 2025 has big events in store for Splatoon 3 as it nears its 3rd anniversary. Riptide, New InkLAN #5, SuperJump 6, and when to expect news from Nintendo on the Splatoon 3 NA League are in store! Check out, here: www.splatoonstronghold.com/news/upcomin...
Riptide getting ~500 attendees is blowing my mind. Those are numbers that attract eyes, if you actively push in the right places. Not just the “oh this is a fun little game I’ll ‘sponsor’ a team”, but the peripheral companies and the energy drink teams, looking for opportunities. A #compsplatoon 🧵
When you, as a victim SSC was attempting to help, perpetuated lies and vitriol so only YOU could speak on the matter — under the threat of legal enforcements and public backlash — they have every right to disprove their claims (like how YOU did the same). You are the exception, not the good kind.
I haven’t seen any TOs speak to whether or not it was appropriate to reveal a person’s DMs and documents shared in confidence. I’m worried that, in doing so, SSC muddled the message of wanting to appear more trustworthy. I would love to hear a TOs take on that.
you may ask: why does my stream get shit from a butt for viewership answer: casuals/viewers arent on twitch, other platforms like tiktok are untapped markets that we need to sell to (part of the) solution: stream to multiple places at once!! its free!! obsproject.com/forum/resour... #compsplatoon
THIS, OMG THIS!!! comp splatoon feels like a small corner inside and separate from the splatoon scene that's mostly casual. There's been some breakthroughs from specific creators like prochara but we need something bigger like an org. everything rn feels comp player focused not viewer focused.
I've remained silent on recent discussion, and will probably remain to do so, but If people in this community have the ability to put hours of their time each week to help run it You can put 5 extra minutes to word something mindfully and with nuance Be respectful, we all want the same thing
There's not a single Splatoon TO whos extrinsically motivated to do this, btw. No one is making a living off this, we are not "professionals", we're humans who put our own time, effort, and resources into making this work.
Please take the time today to listen to the TO's and other community leaders who are speaking about their experiences today, there have been many times their voices do not get the attention and respect they deserve and we have lost too many people good people already, I'd like to not lose more.
After the community's reaction to Splat Safety's post, it's incredibly demotivating to want to continue doing community work. I'm passionate about what I do, but much of the joy has been sucked out. It's hard to trust a community that's so quick to judge without considering the implications. (1/3)
All of this because the community trusted an incomplete story and so much hate was generated that someone decided an appropriate response would be to commit crimes. SSC isn't perfect, IPL isn't perfect, I'm not perfect, nobody is perfect. But we all genuinely try to do the right thing.
I might just stop TOing after I'm done with my upcoming responsibilities. The players act like we get paid to be here and don't thank us basically ever when we work at least 3 hours (often more) every edition to give you a fun, fair, and safe tournament experience to the BEST OF OUR ABILITY. (1/3)
It truly is important for competitive splatoon players to know they've earned less than nothing and are lucky anyone bothers doing anything for them anymore. Unfortunately for the TO and staff side of things, we like the game as well 😵💫
Regardless of personal feelings, SSC has always been something I really took pride in our community having Their investigations seemed to take more time due to how thorough they were- which made me feel much better about them I remember how devastating the hack was and how some were overjoyed

very confused by the response im seeing to this -allegations come out -splat safety says “we arent gonna make a statement yet cause theres an ongoing legal situation” -everyone gets mad -splat safety makes a statement -everyone gets mad at splat safety cause theres an ongoing legal situation ???
When this happened, there was so much panic behind the scenes that never saw the public eye. Many TOs no longer felt safe running their events, knowing that there was intentional harm done to try and attack the SSC, that does all of its volunteer work to help in keeping the scene safer, and TOs.
Worth noting that splatsafety was doxxed and the resulting doxx was circulated as a result of this case. The backlash against splatsafety is conveniently memory holed now but it was intense and quite serious.
Thank you for taking the time to articulate your thoughts with extensive nuance and perspective, for the sake of explaining your side of a tense, confusing, and extremely publicized occurrence in our community in pursuit of furthering the purpose of safety to the community.

We as a community need to have real dialogue about what exactly safety looks like and how to achieve it in a way that still has a baseline of unbiased and through review to ensure integrity for both those who report their cases and the accused in those cases Whether or not you agree with the video
