I don't think you need to be a conspiracy theorist to believe much of this "war" was an excuse to pay giant defense companies a whole bunch of money to restock. What a complete and total moral abomination this administration is.

I've never understood why there's no sales tax on selling advertisements. It would be nice to tax political advertising, especially. It's wild that the state gets basically nothing for all of us enduring endless PAC-funded political garbage everywhere we look.

If every state taxed advertising the way they tax sales, we'd raise $27 BILLION a year. Just another insane loophole stitched into the tax code to keep THEIR taxes low while YOURS stay high.

If you haven't been to Holbrook Island Sanctuary up near Blue Hill, I highly recommend it. What an absolutely fabulous part of the state, and almost no one there. Except for at the Grassholes gig, which was packed. Obviously.

I see this in my tomatoes, especially. So many flowers don't turn into fruit. I surround them with call kinds of wild flowers trying to draw more pollinators, but it's an uphill battle. Scary stuff.

Yeah so NYT asked me ~2 yrs ago to write an op-ed about how the Colorado is running dry, & what we should do to keep this exact thing from happening. I said "There's only one real answer. Bill farmers by how much water they use. Duh." NYT editorial staff freaked tf out & cancelled the piece.

Dems earlier today tried to force another Iran war powers resolution onto the Senate floor, one with actual teeth to it vs a messaging bill. Vote failed, 49-50. GOP Sens. Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins + Rand Paul voted for it. Dem Sen. John Fetterman opposed it. Mitch McConnell missed the vote.
I don't want a "Smart Fridge" that orders milk for me. I want a fridge that lasts 25 years and doesn't have a privacy policy that allows it to share my late-night snacking habits with my health insurance provider.
