Labour simply don't believe they should have to be questioned on areas where they've failed, and this is one where they've been an utter disgrace for years She skipped the environmental one on Friday as well. They don't give a shit, and believe they should just win by default.

I'm hearing Bev Craig didn't turn up to the hustings in Greater Manchester this evening organised by the Forum of Muslim Organisations. After years of complicity in a genocide Labour won't even acknowledge, it's a great shame they couldn't even show up and explain themselves.

I'm a firm believer that if your "straightforward", "simple" street layout requires a 1 minute instructional video to try and explain what the ambiguous signs and all that paint on the road wants you to do, it's not nearly as straightforward and simple as you imagine it is.

Two stage right turns for cyclists have been introduced on Summerhall. This will make it safer and easier for cyclists to turn right onto Hope Park Terrace and from the opposite direction on Summerhall, right onto Melville Drive.

Parking places close to junctions and at places where people may want to cross should be removed, so people can see, and be seen by, oncoming traffic. Accepting the danger posed by parked cars as inevitable shows the government does not take reducing road danger at all seriously.

This insanely out-of-touch government advice for kids on how to cross the road safely would be laughable if it weren't for the 443 children injured on London's roads each year.

For those who don't know... Any alternative to full electrification will be more expensive (if it works at all) if you run any of the following on a given stretch of railway: ⚡ ⭕ fast services (120km/h+) ⏱️ frequent services (6tph+) 📦 freight services (any)

a tweet from Modern Railways grandee Roger Ford reading: "The basic problem with the Class 810 is that EMR ordered a train that didn't exist from a manufacturer with no experience of that type of duty. The train had to match the 125 mile/h performance of the Class 222 - both diesel powered and under the wires.
Was it a bi-mode too far?"

Last week, the @neweconomics.bsky.social released a report into quick transport wins to ease the cost of living for as many as possible. The headlines are around railcards and bus fare caps, but supporting them is a heap of analysis I've done that uncovers much about the state of today's railway.

a young woman rides a bus, with the text reading "free bus travel would save young people £155 a year"a man waits on a platform, with overlaid text reading "a national railcard would save people £82 a year"a busy street with a bus passing, with overlaid text reading "£1 bus cap would save 31 million people £60 a year"a clipped cover of a report, titled GETTING MOVING ON THE COST OF LIVING, a plan to bring down bus and rail fares
