I think the recent surge of interest in nuclear energy is great... but it bums me out (in a 'perhaps-we'll-die kind of way) that this silicon valley beta tester bullshit is anywhere near nuclear construction. The technology isn't the threat. Shit corporate governance is.

This isn’t some rant saying “Germany has learned nothing from its past” - the reality is more subtle than that. Middle-class Germans live and travel with an incredible amount of ease and comfort, and they just got…sleepy. Many of them dismissed the far-right’s rage as just another set of complaints.

A national embarrassment that NZ only generates 1% of electricity from solar in summer when it is so damn cheap. Instead we are burning coal and gas, costing us more.
