Fucking called it. Dropped the reckless endangerment/with intent aggravating factor (ignore thensubtitle under the thumbnail, that's out of date). That reduces the maximum sentence from life to 3 months and a £2,500 fine. Makes it look like it doing something, while getting him back to work ASAP.

I think he's got out of pocket and they've had to seem like they're doing something. My working theory is still that he's an informant and will get a bollocking from his handlers and maybe a minor conviction because he's too useful to them.

I wrote an essay about how 40k is bursting with British class pessimism, like "the avg human is a trivial lepton in the background of a story about more powerful men & thats all you'll ever be" Then someone pointed out 40k was created by Northern Brits during the Thatcher era & it was like ah. Yep.
