Today, the Government has approved a new EHRC Code of Practice. This document tells service providers that they can exclude trans people from single-sex spaces. This is unlikely to mean that trans people will be excluded routinely, but it does mean it may happen more often.

Gods, but I hate the societal pressure to be polite about people who fucking want me dead. Especially when the fuckers seem to have a direct line to the fucking *government.*

This is a big theme of the book: having a neurodivergent or disabled kid who is on the cusp of becoming a grown-up and finding their independence in a world where it is harder for them to claim autonomy for themselves than it may be for other young people.

One thing I haven't seen folks write about about Power Rangers Green is the fact that Mirella, Tommy's descendant, signs instead of speaking. @paulallor.bsky.social wanted to create a character who is noticeably neurodivergent-- Mirella can hear, but she uses ASL to talk to her family.

This is wonderful; everyone should have access to something like this. Speaking of access, I can’t speak for every disabled person in the community, but if the accessible toilet is where you feel safe, please go. (RADAR keys are like £4 and unlike a blue badge, nobody gatekeeps.)

It's been a bit since I posted Katie's GoFundMe, but I finally scheduled her 6 month post op follow-up, which involves at least a check up and x-rays (not sure about bloodwork), but last time, the visit was close to $1000 with all three. Shares are always appreciated 💜🐾

This CoP, if we follow it, would force us to first attempt to use the women's service and then be left using one of those nonexistent "modified/mixed sex/third spaces" if a cis woman complains. Leaving us, in effect, with no services (after the indignity of being refused our "sex based" space)

As the EHRC CoP comes into effect today, I want to remind everyone that no, they haven't forgotten about the existence of trans men, and we do not come out of this unscathed. 13.45-49 permits refusing trans men access to women-only spaces and services if our presence would upset other service users
