Within hours, GC groups threatened defamation lawsuits and Amnesty was forced to pull it down. Proving the point they're anti rights. Anyways, here it is.

I'm in my mid-30s. I spent a half-decade of my life knowing that I'm a trans woman but unable to act on it, unable to come out to anyone offline or access the resources I needed. Without support from my online peers, from lesbians and trans people, I would have without a doubt perished.

A lot of the “kids online safety” proponents actually are anti-LGBTQ extremists and fundamentalists who want kids to have less freedom and don’t care if that actually makes them tremendously less safe too

Feels flippant to use the term Streisand Effect here, but that's what happened. Japan ensured a statue very few people would've seen and even fewer would've understood won't be put up, and instead people all over the world are going to read about their system of sexual slavery during WWII.
