There's a term for people who are in favor of murdering their political opponents.

Trying to stay away from this cesspool.
I don't care for Greenwald at all, but he's not wrong here. I feel like Bluesky had a chance to become the new Twitter, but it took a wrong turn with its hysterical shunning of @jessesingal.com (and, to a lesser extent, of @brianna.bsky.social), thereby ensuring it would just become an echo chamber.
This is creepy. And it's sad that so much of Bluesky approves of it. www.bbc.com/news/article...

One of the more depressing features of the past decade has been seeing how quickly and easily the right abandoned the genuinely good principles it once pretended to care about. Free trade; federalism; free speech. They jettissoned everything they had a point about & kept all the loathesome bits.
Trump and his MAGA movement have mastered the art of projection, accusing the left of doing what they themselves have done. But now, Trump has taken that to a new level, becoming the manifestation of an oppressive state that the right has always warned against. So why aren't more sounding the alarm?
My (Chicago) congressman is a worthless mediocrity. Trump is about to commence a military occupation of the city, and here's his latest post:
Chicago is one of the most dangerous cities for birds. My bill will help change that by requiring all federal buildings to use bird-safe materials nationwide.
All prohibitionism is the same. Once a brain has sunk into the delusion that it is possible to control others' behaviors and thoughts, and the moral imbecility that it is right and good to impose such controls on others who do not desire it, there is no bottom.
"These guys didn't finish college, therefore they're evil" is quite a take.
We are seven months in, and the speed with which vital civic institutions are capitulating to authoritarian demands we once would have regarded as inconceivable in an established liberal democracy is jawdropping. I hadn't thought I was polyannaish about America, but it's really stunning.
Maybe it's just because I'm an American, but this strikes me as deeply creepy. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/05...

This is a pretty ridiculous conclusion to draw from the article. All he's saying is that the New York case was purely political, and really was unjustified from a legal perspective. And he's right! You can hate Trump, as I do, and still recognize that fact.
Jake Tapper likes Trump and wants him to win
Once you have paid him the Dane-geld, you never get rid of the Dane.
Democratic socialists and other leftists often just cannot be persuaded that capitalism is not, in some way, the final boss of politics, even behind the fascists. But they're wrong, they've always been wrong. Fascism, reaction, these things don't rise out of capitalism, they're distinct.
This is what I mean about worrying about demsocs interpreting the current crisis through a lens of wishful thinking This is not "ordinary people vs elites" this is America vs the people who hate it. MAGA is a brainrot, not a class
Most overrated president: FDR Most underrated president: Jimmy Carter Best president: George Washington Worst president: You have to ask?
Many of the people who fall into the first category referenced here no longer even refer to themselves as libertarians, for what it’s worth, because the second category—and the Libertarian Party—have ruined the label.
There are two kinds of libertarians: Those who oppose the state because they reject hierarchy and oppression, and view the state as the main tool for imposing both, and those who oppose the state because they support hierarchy and oppression and view the state as the main barrier to achieving both.
Been saying this for years. People are actually dying from lack of organs, all just because people think selling organs is "icky". www.cato.org/blog/legal-m...
A Legal Market for Organs
An alternative approach is to legalize the purchase and sale of organs. This would expand the supply—from living and deceased donors—benefiting both the recipients and the donors.

"I'm willing to let my own kids die rather than admit I'm an ignoramus who believes the claims of idiots," said Slackjaw H. Yokel.
"The vaccination has stuff we don't trust," said the father of the 6-year-old girl who died from measles at the end of last month. Tom Bartlett visited with a family confronting an unthinkable tragedy:
Unfortunately the bifurcation of everyone who used to be on Twitter into two separate platforms has made both websites way more likely to take the bait for shit that confirms whatever their priors are.
There is simply no Axios article that won’t send this website into a tailspin, huh?
@giselelagace.bsky.social What happened to your website?
I'd support blue state–secession if I could get a guarantee that we'd retain the First and Fifth Amendments. (Second Amendment would be nice too, but I know that'd be lost.)
can't believe it's 2025 and i'm stressed about tariffs and measles, like am i a character in an american girl book
My general rule of thumb is that the odds of somebody being right is inversely proportional to their confidence.
The reply email inbox for this “what did you do last week” email is HR@opm.gov, so, you know, definitely don’t send them any unrelated messages that would interfere with their ability to carry out Elon’s dumbass bullshit
Never was an AOC fan but times have changed. I'll support anyone who opposes the coup.
This is why you fight these cowards. The moment you stand up to them, they crumble. Homan has nothing. The Fourth Amendment is clear and I am well within my duties to educate people of their rights. He can threaten me with jail and call names all he wants. He’s got nothing else.
No, they don't. They also don't realize that Trump is on the verge of ignoring court orders reversing his illegal actions.
Really strange watching the American government become hostile to Canada, western Europe, and Mexico in order to cozy up to the dictatorships of eastern Europe. Do Americans even know this is happening? Do they have any idea what this means for their lives?
If you made a list of all the unlawful, corrupt, and evil things Trump has done just since the start of his term, it would far outstrip in its venality the list of charges against King George in the Declaration of Independence.
Everyone who pays alot of attention to politics right now is losing their mind because it’s really difficult to understand how the majority of people are just like “yep living my life, oh a program to hire more women? Idk sounds good to me, I voted Trump to lower inflation hopefully he’s doing that”
