Also, if you are a cis person and you actually think this is about trans people, I'd be happy to inform you that it's not. Conservatives want to police gender for everyone. It's the skeleton key to their entire political project. It won't just affect trans people. It'll affect you, too.

In Benin erinnert das „Tor ohne Wiederkehr“ an Hunderttausende Menschen, die von hier nach Nord- und Südamerika als Sklaven verschleppt wurden. Ein Verbrechen gegen die Menschlichkeit, von dem Europa immer noch kaum etwas wissen will, seine rassistischen rechten Parteien noch weniger.

Zwei unterbelichtete Aspekte in der Ceuta-Debatte: 1. Wer illegal in die Festland-EU will, kann das vermutlich einfacher von Marokko selbst als von Ceuta. 2. Der EU-Aktionismus ist eigentümlich, weil Ceuta ja gerade zeigt, wie abhängig Europa bei der Migration von Marokko, Algerien oder Libyen ist.

The streets are awash in fent because border security (and port security) are paid. Texas has been Republican controlled forever, so it's weird that all this shit keeps coming through. How are they winning on border security? They're in charge and have been in charge. No one mentions this?

Fazit: keine Anlassgesetzgebung und Symbolpolitik, sondern klare Kriterien für einen möglichen Einsatz (konkrete Gefahr, richterliche Kontrolle, Befristung, Überprüfung) - und keine Illusion, dass eine Fußfessel allein Anschläge verhindert.
