The New Mexico attorney general’s office urged one school district to “acknowledge the facts” after a report found Indigenous and Hispanic students often receive harsher discipline than their white classmates for similar infractions.

An excellent watch/listen, as anticipated, with @julesboykoff.bsky.social and @karimzidan.com. On the dark shadows of the World Cup and of being a football fan amidst corruption and sportswashing, and how to reconcile that. open.substack.com/pub/karimzid...?
The World Cup's Long Shadow w/ Jules Boykoff
The World Cup brought the world together. It also exposed FIFA’s fraught empire. I spoke to Jules Boykoff about these tensions, and whether anything can be done to reform football's overlords.

In an angry, divided world, this is a great image from last night's France-England game 👏
Today I made an unannounced visit to ICE’s facility in Scarborough, Maine. What I heard was unacceptable: no body cameras, no training, and no accountability. Johan Guerrero should be alive. Congress must act. Abolish ICE. End qualified immunity.
Amazing that this man can perfectly execute both of the Great New York Expressions - Italian AND Jewish
I’ve lived in Beijing too. They don’t have elections.
Newsmax talking head: "I've lived in Beijing. I can say the elections in Beijing are much better than California and the United States."
"Unverified claims" is the latest in a long line of pretty amazing synonyms for "lies". I really wish that media could start saying just a wee bit more directly: "XYZ lied." It would be pretty refreshing
The documents Trump cited don't even make his case - and actually refute much of it. But that didn'tg matter. No foreign regime, no spies, no saboteurs have yet matched the damage that America’s own president just did tonight to faith in U.S. elections. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...
Trump Just Did More Damage to Elections Than China
His speech was a mashup of charges that aren’t supported by the documents he released.

This is how to speak to every single one of those sycophants.
"There's still gonna be more bloodshed unless they shut their mouth." Probably not a good sign when federal officials sound exactly like abusive husbands
Tom Homan: "It all go backs to the Dems ... there's still gonna be more bloodshed unless they shut their mouth and let ICE enforce the laws that they enacted."
It’s impossible to move the debate forward when one side is committed to upholding a disinformation-fueled, dehumanizing false reality that leads to the state-sanctioned street killings of innocent people. There are not two sides to this particular story. Full stop.
I think the saddest thing about the emerging dystopia is how crushingly predictable it is. Dirty orange skies and unbreathable air and corrupt, venal overlords and disposable media and barbed wire fences around minorities. Tacky and obvious. We were warned so much.
If the head of US intelligence isn't able to say who won the election in 2020, then maybe he shouldn't be head of US intelligence.

Given that almost every team I support ends up losing when it counts, I wonder who I should/shouldn't support right now. Any England or Argentina fans want to pay me to root for the other side? My bad juju is amazing and my IBAN is
What are we doing? Why are we treating immigrants like this in the first place? What kind of an idiot thinks we need to terrorize American citizens to fix immigration? What kind of an idiot thinks we need a military force to handle immigration
Important to note that amid the World Cup—but far from host cities full of international journalist—“ICE last month arrested more [people] than any month in the history of the agency,” said Tom Homan, White House ‘border czar’
Q: Will this change on vehicle stops lower the rate of deportations? HOMAN: No. No. I'm sick and tired of reading about how the administration has lost their guts with mass deportation. Do you know that ICE last month arrested more aliens than any month in the history of the agency?

It's Harrison Ford's birthday, which means we are obliged to share this absolute banger from our archives: "No one on the committee can identify who or what instilled Dr. Jones with the belief that an archaeologist’s tool kit should consist solely of a bullwhip and a revolver."

Here is Graham gloating about "killing all the right people." Just in case you see anyone try to do the whole "we should have decency for the dead" nonsense.
Brilliant stuff, required reading. Covers numerous reasons for collaboration and dissident and shares some truly amazing stories. Absolutely fascinating

I don’t blame anyone for resenting Trump voters anytime he ran. Just remember: we need them. Alienating them pushes them back into the MAGA ecosystem. Everyone needs a place to call home. And a chance to repent.
One of my relatives voted for the Oval Office occupant in2024. He’s not a zealot. He voted for what he thought was his best interests. He spent 30 minutes yesterday talking about what a mistake he made. I only know how he voted because he told me. I didn’t ask. Lots of people want a correction.
