Follower of Christ, husband, father... I've served on the school board and the deacon board and believe we're only going to fix things by making genuine, local connections with people who disagree with us.
When this is all over, we need to choose a leader who has the integrity, strength, and courage to apologize. To the country. To the world; friend and foe alike. We broke the window. We stole the candy bar. We need to own our offenses if we every hope to learn, grow, and rebuild trust.

There’s more than enough stress, drama and tragedy in the world. Take moments to find things that make you smile. Could be as simple as a photo or painting. A song. A joke. A quote. We all need as much of those as we can possibly get. Fill up on them!
This is an unhinged reading from Peterson - and I'd note that the Gospel text is insistent that Judas is motivated not by genuine concern for the poor, but by greed (he has his hand in the common purse). Tom's also right that the brazen serpent is from a completely different story to that of Cain.

What do Cain and Abel have to do with the brazen serpent? Why does any Christian (or Jew or atheist or anyone else for that matter) take Jordan B. Peterson seriously?

I sincerely hope that James Talarico is exactly the man that we hope he is. Win or lose, I need him to be ethical, compassionate, and kind. I need to know that someone of integrity can exist in public life.

Platner posted an 11-minute (!!) video to announce he’s dropping out, in which he blamed “large forces” and the “corporate media” for the very credible sexual assault allegations against him. Good riddance!
I say that the governor should just call the special election. If he's alive, it's null & void. If he's not, no time has been lost. Short of that, aren't there state laws regarding elder abuse, or abuse of a corpse that could be applied to demand access for a wellness check?

This is what November needs to look like for team Trump. Any candidate in his orbit needs to suffer a clear, lopsided defeat. His curse is not enough; we all have to show up and run up the score. Be Belgium.

The thing with his past is, I've heard him explain it, and maybe even make excuses for it, but has he apologized for his actions? I believe that there's such a thing as reform that starts with repentance; I just haven't seen it from Platner. That's troubling.

Who else is hoping that Cassidy, Tillis, McConnell, and now Cornyn become the Four Horsemen of YOLO in the Senate? Seven months isn't enough to cleanse a legacy, but they sure could do some damage to the current agenda of hate and corruption. It could be great fun to watch. I'll bring the popcorn.
