Just had dinner with some older Gen X people who are well-educated and every one of them had the whole "we just have to give up on trans people" attitude I want to talk a little bit about how I countered their arguments because maybe it will help some of you in similar convos (🧵)

Many libraries are moving away from a fine/late fee model with regards to getting people to return items. Removing that barrier has probably freed a lot of people to use the library more regularly with less anxiety. There's also been very little problem with this move in practice that I've seen.
