Just so everyone knows, this is a tried-and-true mainstream media tactic. For progressives/leftist candidates, every election is a “crucial test” and any loss would serve as proof to the media that the latest left-side moment is at its end. Any win, though, just means it’s time to find a new test.

I don't understand why people are mad *about a poll.* It's data, and it can be good data or junk data. In fact, Glengariff has a primary poll (from only 2 weeks ago) showing Stevens up 7%, so we're going to get a sense of how good or bad their data is pretty darn soon.
