This is a very good reminder that @politico.com is a right-wing corporate propaganda machine working to weaken the Democratic Party and the American left at all times.
correct are you serious about beating fascism or not? get in, we’re beating them in november you can be mad, you can be disappointed, but at the end of the day having someone with D in any and all seats is better than having someone with an R in them
I meant to post this last night but if you’re mad about any of the primary results you got 24 hours to bleed, try not to say anything you’ll regret in 48, and then it’s Blue No Matter Who.
Still true btw for those who have an odd and totally not racist obsession with bringing up Dearborn or Uncommitted every day
Do centrist Dems realize that the incentive structure they're establishing by admonishing one of the few major Arab American figures who unequivocally endorsed Harris despite nothing being conceded on Gaza? The lesson for those Arabs will be to uh, not do that again.
I have, with my own eyes, watched my tax dollars in the form of missiles as they hit buildings inhabited by civilians. I'd much prefer subsidizing a grocery story I don't use.
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
May be wrong here, but my sense is there is a whole media apparatus that aggressively screens Dem candidates and cautions voters not to support the more left-wing candidate. And this is asymmetric. Credible media messengers don't police right-wing candidates the same way.
VOTE BLUE NO MATTER... www.semafor.com/article/07/3...
Just so everyone knows, this is a tried-and-true mainstream media tactic. For progressives/leftist candidates, every election is a “crucial test” and any loss would serve as proof to the media that the latest left-side moment is at its end. Any win, though, just means it’s time to find a new test.
Michigan will provide another crucial test of whether progressives can not only keep up their winning streak in safe-blue seats but also break through in battlegrounds crucial for control of Congress. The stakes for the Democratic Party are huge.
A watershed piece. America will have have a very hard time becoming less imperialist as long as combat service is sentimentalized and fetishized, when it actually tends to turn men into broken, hateful people, and helps make things like like Trumpism happen. www.newyorker.com/news/the-pol...
The Complications of Graham Platner’s Veteran Identity
How much of Graham Platner’s behavior should be read through the lens of what combat did to him, and how much of it is simply who he is, independent of war?

Republicans largely erasing their party id advantage among Americans without a college degree seems like a finding from the Pew NPORS study that should be getting more attention www.pewresearch.org/politics/fac...
I dunno but it should probably be a bigger deal that the White House announced it wants to slap a 100% tariff on drug imports at the same time it is eliminating Medicare drug subsidies. And we’re talking about critical life-saving drugs like insulin, blood thinners, antibiotics, and heart meds.
my feelings on this are pretty straightforward: if you have a problem with poor people having greater access to less expensive food then you’re a fucking psycho.
Weird how much discourse around the Mamdani grocery stores ignores the existence of the Green Cart intiative (launched under Bloomberg) that provides subsidized fruit and vegetable stands across the city under the exact same logic as the grocery stores
If the entire Democratic Party is being asked by the press and pundits about a few DSA candidates in NYC, it seems like the entire Republican Party should be asked about their colleague who has been credibly accused -- by another colleague's daughter -- of repeated acts of violence.

I don't understand why people are mad *about a poll.* It's data, and it can be good data or junk data. In fact, Glengariff has a primary poll (from only 2 weeks ago) showing Stevens up 7%, so we're going to get a sense of how good or bad their data is pretty darn soon.
El-Sayed's results here - trailing Rogers by 10 - is the worst performance by a Democratic candidate in any Senate battleground general election poll this entire cycle.

“Alex Jones, who once frequently hosted Loomer on InfoWars, quipped that Loomer should stay out of global politics and go back to eating dog food. Loomer retorted that Jones should pay the Sandy Hook families the money he owes them.” Zing!!!
Having a hard time taking any of the outrage from libs and Dems over Al-Sayed's "ogre on a pike" comment about Fetterman too seriously, considering that Fetterman spends every single day running to Fox News to talk as much shit as he can about left-wing candidates.

On some level, fact-checking Musk's "zero died" claim misses the point. He's communicating in a coded race-war trope that his global fascist audience will instantly grasp: Zero people died *who matter.* He sees these USAID cuts as a dry run for much worse to come. newrepublic.com/article/2135...

One consequence of the democratising effect of social media is too many people treat “the statements made and endorsed by a social media platform’s wealthy and powerful owner” with the same seriousness as “a random user with no influence or importance”.
There is simply no ambiguity in what Elon Musk is arguing and endorsing here.
