It's your tinker genet. Viverridae vivacious. Can't see the greymuzzle if already a grey genet. They/them. Maker of things, crisper of circuitry, sculpter of stuff. Ebikes, furry things, electronics tinkering and props.

My current task is digging into fifteen years of SMD parts kit labeling and change tracking entropy while attempting to find enough of the correct component values that "we surely have" (we do not), and second guessing mystery parts declared with the same MFR PN but wildly different values.

Fun genet thing: My daily wear tool pouch has a holster for zipties, a mini roll of fusible rubber splicing tape, and a syrette of superglue. The truth of hardware is that you will break it, but this does not preclude being able to kitbash horrorfixes to it later.

Remember, the one truth of hardware: You can break it now, or you can break it later. The really important bit is being able to sort out how it broke and what to do about it. The fun bit is enjoying how you broke it.

One slight silver lining as we head into what looks like a transition in British Columbia into BC conservative government (ick); Ken Sim has at least been shown the door in Vancouver and now he can go back to what he's actually good at: Making bagels bougier.

I've only ever had one motorcycle crash, and I wouldn't be here if I didn't wear a helmet. (My head hit the ground so hard that I don't remember the actual crash.) More than e-bikes and even e-motos, I think these hyper kick scooters should be treated like actual motorcycles because they are.

Another day, another illegally parked Uber with its idiot passengers angrily yelling at me to "jus' go around, man!!" Yeah, because the alternative is, I pick up your illegal taxi cab and put it into my pocket, then remove it from my inventory where it's safe to park and load up two morons. </s>

Today's genet fun: Preparing parts for a prototype e-bike display and control head. IYKYK. Me, I'm excited to see a new iteration of something that has been a classic for over a decade on some of your bikes (My "Pretengineering" sign continues to become ironic)

A shockingly clean worktable for a change in Sid's lab, woodprint melamine table laden with two clusters of parts cubes in progress of kit assembly; on the left, ESD parts bags being unloaded into the labeled green flip lid cubes, with a cluster of empty cubes on the right waiting to be loaded. Most of the individual parts for an LCD ebike display.

Me: *workshop with laser cutters, bench tools, 3D printers, works in place with industrial fab equipment* Need for night time safety light on bicycle : "Surely you'll just buy something, or at least print or mill a good enclosure?" Me: haha food can and furry convention theming leftovers go brrrr

Also, I'm building myself a new tail light for the bike with purple and orange LEDs. It's housed in a bean can. Why is it in a bean can? Beans, yo. C'mon.

So first we had the Perv Glasses, and now we have the Perv Tamagotchi. Time for a "recognition card" of them, furcons; most of our terms of service already ban nonconsensual recording, but outright banning the devices would be a nice addition.
