“This is the kind of life I've had. Drunk, and in charge of a bicycle, as an Irish police report once put it. Drunk with life, that is, and not knowing where off to next. But you're on your way before dawn. And the trip? Exactly one half terror, exactly one half exhilaration.” ― Ray Bradbury

It’s good he won but let’s not unnecessarily water down the term any further than it already is. “Leftist” begins anti-capitalist and he has called himself a proud capitalists. He is not a member of the DSA but was rightly endorsed by them. Enjoy victories but be clear eyed about it please people.

Leftists winning popular elections is very divisive. How are you supposed to unify a country with this sort of thing. I ask you.

It's interesting all the health workers speaking out in videos etc about the realities of the pandemic early times. I'm a health vulnerable person with a health vulnerable son. My uncle died of hospital acquired covid just last year I want to yell WHY DON'T YOU CARE ABOUT US? Wear a mask! 😷

Define yourself by your generation if you wanna, but just know. Every single generation sold out their children’s future and our present to capital… for like slinkies, and kiddie porn generators an shit…

Not going to put their names in the alt text because I DONT NEED ANY NAME SEARCHERS AROUND HERE! But man if that comic isn’t still reverberating through the bloodless quantsphere and now a bunch of capitalists are theorizing about how much Marx wouldn’t like modern leftists but would love Xitter?!

Post and two responses:

stop parroting theory and start trying to read and understand theory, marx would fucking disavow and destroy every loudmouth anti-chart jackass on social media, he would be obsessed with people being wrong on the internet and he's not even the best reference in the 21st century

First response: "communism isn't about bloodless quant-brain" y'all Marx invented his own kind of math to work out his economic ideas, you really think he wouldn't have been excited about charts?

Second: It's almost as if these people haven't had conversations with real people.

"Miller's nightmare... is not left wing terrorist/violent behavior, looting, whatever. It's the possibility that people might stop seeing these social arrangements and these forms of power as natural, and start seeing them as made, and

I agree strongly with this -- in that difficult moment, the possibility of collective effort was conceivable. Not everybody felt it, but many did. I think the political class did not like this one bit.

For context Tianjin is a city of 14 million. We talk about how many generations it'll take to rebuild and fix the harm that road construction and parking caused to US cities. But maybe it's clearer to talk about how long it'll take to elect politicians who aren't carbrains. Then, just do it.

In 2015, Tianjin launched the Urban Transport Improvement Project—the largest active mobility investment ever supported by the World Bank. Instead of focusing solely on roads or transit, it sought to create an integrated system where walking, cycling, buses and metro would work seamlessly together.🧵

People of all ages and abilities wearing casual summer clothes walk and cycle along pedestrianised streets and protected bike lanes in Tianjin, China.
