It feels as though, when we said we’d like authenticity, directors just heard “chuck out the lighting rig and coat everything in shit!”. What I actually want is a flavour of what it was *actually* like back then, not an arrogant assumption that everything was awful and route one appeals to dunces.

I remember Elle being the only bright, colourful character in Legally Blonde - all the others in classical greys, browns, & creams. Nope - they’re in purples, orange, there’s a natty little Argyle beret. And the sets! They LIT them! Compared to the dreary sludge of modern films, it’s glorious.

Today brought a bout of hyperfocus - designing a fairisle blanket I’ve been mulling on. However the normal pitfalls were avoided by my body helpfully getting the shakes when I didn’t eat on time AND removing all the sensation from my little finger when it really was time to stop. ✨so helpful✨

A note book with two pages of rough blankets designs with half filled in colours and scribbles of colours in pencils labelled with the names of yarn I’ve got to hand already.Two pages filled with notes on motif sizes and two charts of modified motifs and how they link together in the palest pencil imaginable. More pages - a list of the final motifs, the running order for the overall repeats and the start of the final plan for colours. My hand gave out and you can tell from the squiggliness And the book I’m stealing all my ideas from - 200 Fair Isle Designs by Mary Jane Mucklestone.

Can we please stop ridiculing people based on their appearance or health issues (known or theorized)? Yeah, I get that politicians and celebs are in the public eye. It’s ableist and affects everyone else who’s not an evil cunt but happens to have a similar issue.

I’ve somehow managed to lose all of my stitch markers. I have four usable ring markers, (and a whole set of unusable ones). But I need the split type, and none of them are locatable. Not even the crappy plastic ones that I never use. I bought two packs of 40 bulb pins a few months ago. And yet.

Never fear that I am without 🧶 WIPs even if I did just finish a huge project. I’d already started making a colourwork jumper with my hand spun yarns AND a basic stockinette jumper in super fluffy warm yarn. And, of course, there’s still the raccoon, and the shawl, and those thrice damned socks…

A close up of a yoke of a colourwork sweater (Iall bunched up because I couldn’t be bothered putting it on cord.) It shows the tops of the motif (a fairisle quatrefoil type design with ornamental dodads) in green against a greyish fawn background. The green then blends into a rusty colour which will eventually blend through burgundy and into purple. Both yarns are hand spun. The grey from a BFL and lotus fibre mix and the gradient from a hand dyed Cambrian wool top by Hilltop Clouds. The whole yoke in all is bunchy glory. See previous photo for pattern descriptions. The yoke of a sweater in a lavender purple (actually a mix of pink purple and blue fibres) with a ribbed funnel collar and decorative eyelet raglan shaping. It has just been split for sleeves so you can actually tell which bit it body etc.

I finally finished the Low Tide jumper. The last sleeve felt like it was going to take most of my life. It’s currently soaking - the yarn was still oiled, so it needs a nice long scour - but I figured I’d get a photo up any way, just to mark the day. 🧶

For one single packet of deodorant I’ve had 11 ELEVEN emails and messages from three different sources. I know in the grand scheme of things emails take very very little in terms of time and energy to send but surely that’s an absolute waste of all of it.

Am I going mad? Those is two identical hair styles. We have GOT to stop letting AI create our bullshit for us. Back to the days when bullshit at least tried to follow some internal logic.
