🇨🇦 Riding a bike makes me happy! Probably because it keeps me off social media. And cross country skiing is pretty cool too! Cycling advocate in YYC. My friends call me Jim. #yycbike

It's too bad the province may be coming for them - but 26th Ave between Crowchild & 37th is looking really good. The City is putting in a first class permanent concrete-curb separated #yycbike lanes (replacing existing decade-old painted lanes w/ little/no impact to vehicle lanes or parking).

Let me bring some clarity to this: In June 2025, UCP Cabinet Minister tipped me off that Danielle Smith was actively collaborating with separatists on filing of a petition under soon to be custom drafted rules for them. This prompted me to preempt them under the existing rules.

WOW! The Rath texts are real. Smith colluded with the separatists. Confirmed by Dani in the legislature today. And while she tried to spin them as just answering questions, she also makes it clear the texts weren't meant for Lukaszuk. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

Every single train and plane crash is international news. Yet 3250 people will die by cars today... and every other day... and nobody seems to care.

“When mayors in other cities ask me how #Copenhagen afforded to invest in its cycling networks, I ask them how on earth they have been able to afford highway projects. We invested in bike lanes because that was the cheapest option.” What the world can learn from Copenhagen’s cycling revolution.

Copenhagen Cycling Revolution: Lessons for Cities

Close to two-thirds of the city’s residents commute by bike to school or work every day.

"24 St SW Pathway & Quarry Trail" closure is extended from today to Nov 1. For the entire closure period (Aug 25) there has been 4 days(?) requiring full closure at the bottom. Given how many use this corridor, accommodation for a secure detour around the perimeter could have been provided. #yycbike

All pretty Ontario/Lower Mainland wintery out there (86% humidity ugh), but the MUPs are fine, just mind those bridge decks, got a little spin coming up to the pedestrian bridge going into Prince’s Island #yycbike

It would be nice if news headlines/reports stopped saying “BC Conservatives win first majority in a century” when the BC Liberals and Socreds won plenty of majorities and were, you know, conservative.

As the count continues, we are getting a clearer picture of the results from Monday's AB referendum: 1. Separation was trounced 2. No real mandate on the heavily pushed Q1-9 Big picture: the Urban-Rural divide Cgy+Edm voted No on all questions Rest of Alberta (combined) voted Yes

Albertans should be furious about this. Danielle Smith: 1) Lowered the threshold for signatures on a petition 2) Extended the duration in which they could be collected 3) Continues to pretend the people who signed the Forever Canada petition wanted a referendum Shameless.

Today was a day of car based errands so I found myself on Glenmore Trail at the unfortunate time of 5pm. 3+ lanes of westbound traffic from Blackfoot Trail to Sarcee Trail and seldomly got up to 30km/h yet not a bike lane in sight to blame. 🤔

Let's not forget the money and time that was wasted on this referendum. Gerrymandering of urban ridings, to dilute "big city" opposition to this government, is up next for this inept government along with Doug Ford style attacks on wheeling infrastructure. The fight is not over. #yyc #yeg #abpoli
