Mornings after strikes are always hard, but today I'm especially thinking about the children who went through this horrible night, yet again, and who are now heading to their first day of school, right after Russia tried to kill them. Right after Moscow spent the summer destroying their schoolbooks.

Russia continued its attacks on Kyiv for another consecutive night as air defenses in Ukraine's capital shot down Russian drones into Sept. 1, according to Kyiv Independent journalists on the ground.
