Nonbinary writer (any pronouns fine) and Japanese -> English editor, fandom tragic.

I find it interesting that both the work of Toby Fox and the work of Taz Muir ask the question "what if skeletons had mental illness?" when Homestuck, their shared parent, does not ask this.

The number of times a day my dog is complaining loudly and miserably and I say "nothing bad has ever happened to you" is very high and it's all because of this post.

I refuse to buy the movie tie-in until I know the fate of Holden. I was all "la la la people need to accept creative changes in adaptation" about The Vampire Lestat, but when it comes to the existence of Holden Rodrigues I turn into the most insufferable purist because I will not accept any change.

okay I am ordering the love hypothesis movie tie in cover and I love it but also can we talk about the fact that from when TLH was published in 2021 to now the price of a standard paperback has gone from $16 to $20

I know someone who believes biological children 'count' more because of the oxytocin rush the birthing parent gets bonding them, which is the stupidest reason I have ever heard because does that mean those who get postnatal depression and psychosis are somehow not really parents? Give me a break.

If you're part of the BioWare or Sims community and want to talk about how those studios' queer characters and themes have impacted you and your fears for those series moving forward after this sale, I'd love to chat with you for a Kotaku story. Can be reached here or email kshepard@kotaku.com

Well, I guess Electronic Arts belongs to Saudi Arabia, private equity, and Jared Kushner now. https://kotaku.com/electronic-arts-officially-belongs-saudi-arabia-jared-kushner-now-2000721666

fascists will be like The Noble Wisdom of our Ancient Past but then you'll open an actual book and the noble wisdom will be "snakes flee at the sound of the mandolin because they have no spleen, the organ of lust" and "electrum makes you gay"

A friend and I are going to Asia in November and we were discussing things we'd like to do, and I confessed that I'd once dragged another friend from Tokyo to Kyoto solely to go to Honnoji temple because I shipped two samurai who'd died there. It's not even the original location. I have no excuse.

I actually once looked into what the copyright situation with Anne is because I wondered if I could publish a book where Walter was gay and basically there's a whole company in Canada just dedicated to making sure you can't call anything Anne of Soylent Green Gables. Hence the show 'Anne With An E'.

I published my fifth book Anne of Soylent Green Gables posthumously. It was optioned to be made into a film by Quentin Tarantino but he forgot. I have been to the moon twice on various challenger missions. I invented carrots and have since apologised. I died in 1986 aged 7.

This is so fucking stupid. In Australia we have deferred student loan repayments until you hit a certain pay threshold, and for years I joked that they were never going to get out a cent out of me because I was too poor. It turned out not to be true but even if it had been my degree had value.

President Trump is banning students majoring in degrees that don’t make enough money from taking out college loans. Degrees for social work, art, religious studies, teaching aides, and music will be hit the hardest. trib.al/aaAEu6v
