Don’t know who to credit for this. But it is how I feel.
Older lady peeped the rainbow flag on my bike, asked in a thick Russian accent “It’s your Pride?” She told me her youngest grandchild is “not she berry or he berry but no berry.” I said “Nonbinary?” She got so excited. Yes! Yes! And “Is a secret, but they are my“ *looks around, whispers* “favorite.”
I keep clicking on video game retrospective videos thinking I'll learn something new about the development of a beloved classic but no, it's just some guy describing a game they played once I desire something greater. Tell me what coffee the devs drank. I wanna know if they used tabs or spaces

You have to fight to not become a crank as you get older. You have to keep finding cool new things you like.
What are you people talking about? There are great movies and music coming out all the time, you’re just getting older. That’s not technology’s fault.
Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑
Average people should be able to afford to own a home, buy food for their families, go out to dinner every once and a while, and go on a couple of vacations a year without breaking the bank, and rich people should pay their fair share in taxes.

Many people turn to games when they’re stressed. But stress can affect focus, memory, and motor skills, making accessibility even more important. 🧠 Accessible design supports players with different needs and helps reduce stress by making gameplay smoother, clearer, and therefore more enjoyable.
Time to clarify something. When authors say “Unbound haven’t paid me” that makes it sound like Unbound had some money, which they used to buy authors’ writing. Unbound had no money. The authors did: we had raised that money. They were holding it in trust. Unbound stole our money.
This "goodwill gesture" stuff is - and was - such fucking nonsense. It's phrased like we should be pathetically, obsequiously grateful to *perhaps* receive the money we earned. You didn't pay your authors. You didn't refund their readers. Then your company went bust & you instantly started another.
So there you have it. My ex-publishers who last year stopped paying me for the seven books I'd written for them, have today gone back on their promise that some of the money that they owe me and their other authors would come through. I should have guessed.. www.thebookseller.com/news/unbound...
Oh, to hell with it. Who wants my Unbound incompetence story! Yay!
So, I think it's time I begin, in detailed specifics, talking about the mess that is Unbound / Boundless as a book publisher, in essence stealing most of a years royalties from me and many other authors, as a result of poor financial decisions, and legal BS. Please read and share this thread.
So, this Unbound/Boundless fiasco. I was going to be polite about it, but after this morning’s email: no
I discovered yesterday, in a mass email sent at 3am, that I will not be receiving the roughly £40,000 that my publisher Unbound/Boundless owes me for pre-order sales of The Paradox Paradox. The payment for five years of work, gone. #unboundless
Authors published by the crowdfunding publisher Unbound will not receive historic royalty payments for sales of their books, unless Boundless, the new publisher founded following Unbound going into administration, "survives and thrives" 👇 #BookSky
