Public health and government communications, systems change novice, Unified Muppet Theory devotee, really really Lutheran. Minnesotan to the core.
Not only is my hip problem discussed in this article about menopause, the doctor who finally diagnosed it after a year of it being improperly diagnosed as "hip bursitis" is quoted. www.startribune.com/garrison-men...
Garrison: Menopause can literally be a pain in the butt. Or a frozen shoulder.
"It turns out my athletic breakdown wasn’t a case of bad luck, poor form or a sign that I should give up on physical challenges. It was a textbook manifestation of a newly recognized medical reality,"...

Why is Tom Cruise talking at me about soccer, please make it stop
🏳️⚧️ My kids play a sport where trans athletes belong and are welcome, and it’s the least dramatic thing about our lives, trust me. It’s a non-issue. 🏳️⚧️
The Hatch Act of 1939 exists specifically to protect fed employees from political coercion in the workplace. Forcing partisan content onto every work phone in the executive branch seems like a textbook violation of that principle. This is not normal. No previous admin has done anything like this.
The White House is ordering agencies to place its new app on all employees’ government phones
The newly created, often overtly political app places the Trump administration into unprecedented and “dangerous” territory, IT experts say.

I forgot the new Murderbot book came out 😱 not like it’s been a bit crazy in Minnesota or public health or anything, lol @marthawells.com , thank you for bringing us on this continued journey; this is 100% the highlight of my spring 😍
FYI if you're in the Twin Cities metro area, you should be able to use your library card to get two passes for this exhibit for free via smARTpass. That's a $40 value. Yay libraries! smartpass.melsa.org/events?start...

“Modern Art and Politics in Germany 1910–1945” is beautiful and profound and challenging and worth a long visit to the Minneapolis Institute of Art. (It is not for the faint of heart!)
Feeling a bit spoiled as Paris Baguette and Tous Les Jours are suddenly on the East Side for allllllllll the butter+gluten morning options (no one will ever replace you, tho, La Delicious, you’re still the best and flakiest and gorgeous-est)
I’ve been in the old Maplewood Perkins building on White Bear and NSP Road about… infinity times 🤣 since birth, and finally made it back to The Circle for some pho and boba. Eastsiders, DO NOT SLEEP on these laab wings 🔥 🤤
We killed 85 schoolgirls. We are not the good guys.

Crowd-sourced data gives us a lens into how big the ICE surge was in MN compared to other places, visualized today in the Minnesota @startribune.com www.startribune.com/is-ice-reall...
Holy smokes is it fun watching Jessie Diggins ski 😍
Ramadan Mubarak! Kung Hei Fat Choi! Laissez bon temps rouler! Hodesh Adar tov! Y'ALL ⭐
Every once in a while a migraine sends me to the ER (usually because of pain, but today is facial numbness so that’s new & fun), and to be able to just pop off to the ER because I have good health insurance: that is such a luxury in the U.S., and it SHOULD NOT BE. Health care for everyone, y’all.
Let me tell you a tale of how completely the normies have been mobilized. My 14 year-old niece has done School of Rock for the past 5 years; last summer she was part of their touring band, and the kids loved playing together so much that they decided to keep doing it. (1/?)
I’m in a St Paul, Minnesota suburb, and ICE is all over the neighborhood about a half-mile from us and using the next street down from us for staging. This is not just isolated to urban cores, tho they’re getting it the worst by far. People are being threatened and taken ALL OVER the Twin Cities.
You're going to see almost every american lawyer on here share this opinion and order because it is the judicial equivalent of lighting the beacons of minas tirith
It is so unsettling to drive around and look up and see drones hovering above you. Two in the air on the ten-minute drive from our house to church tonight on the east side of Saint Paul.
Grabbed this pic in front of Central Presbyterian in downtown St Paul this morning. Wish I had time to get a bit better one, but I liked it so much I wanted to post.
To the four twenty-something (?) women at the Maplewood Minnesota Costco doing an absolutely EPIC mutual aid diaper run tonight: love it, thank you for doing the damn thing 💛
“Minnesotans have all studied the playbook.” The playbook:
Minnesotans have all "studied the playbook." (Please quote repost with your playbook, Minnesota. Have at it.)
At the end of Donald Trump’s first year back in office, roughly 300,000 fewer Americans worked for the government. Franklin Foer spoke with 50 federal employees who were either fired or forced out:
The Purged
Donald Trump’s destruction of the civil service is a tragedy not just for the roughly 300,000 workers who have been discarded, but for an entire nation.

The people United Will never be defeated We need waves like w/ marathons. Buses of ppl after each wave gets tear gassed. Multiple shirts on hand. Laundromats ready to assist with tear gassed clothes and fresh shirts. Ppl whose only job is to hand out rechargeable hand and foot warmers. Call me.
I'm a St. Paul former resident but I'll lay down my body for Minneapolis right now. The Twin Cities had never been more united. We need even more unity and collaboration. What's our color scheme? We need 4XL t-shirts to put over our winter coats. Can a donor step in for shirt printing?
Congrats to Trump and MAGA for radicalizing my dad, a lifelong Republican, into a full-fledged liberal. Can safely say if y’all had run Romney or McCain, my family would not be in this situation. He even subscribes to The Atlantic. 😱 It’s next to the WSJ on the coffee table. It’s pretty great. 🥹
55 degree swing. Go home, Minnesota, you’re drunk.
