New York City’s business elites are long accustomed to direct access to City Hall, where even Democratic mayors felt the need to court the city’s wealthiest and most influential corporate leaders. That access is getting shredded by Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Mamdani Is Shunning New York Business Leaders Who Are Used to Calling the Shots

The mayor fired corporate leaders from a city fund’s advisory board in the latest sign that he is changing the way such power brokers access City Hall.

Max Miller released audio recordings of conversations he has with his ex wife. In one of them, she accuses him of clandestinely recording their conversations. “I have never recorded our conversations” he says, while recording their conversation. This is domestic violence. Ask me how I know.

So exhausted already by the meme that the "tells" of gen AI writing are when something is structurally aping the way a decent professional writer writes, rather than when it's meaningless word salad. (You will take my em dashes, sets of three, and lack of typos from my cold, dead hands.)

nothing shouts "I don't read much" more than when you equate em-dashes with AI. as Kat says here: 1) AI uses em-dashes BECAUSE AUTHORS USE THEM & AI IS TRAINED ON OUR WRITINGS! 2) "AI checkers" are complete bunk (just another AI bullshit machine), 3) this is not a "list of three" haha

Scapegoats are emotionally cheaper than systems. Blaming the left asks nothing of you. It feels good and righteous and right. Asking whether your institutions and your party failed you requires dismantling beliefs you have spent your lifetime building. That is emotionally expensive.

Just amazing that now, in the **United States**, if you’re accosted by an armed and/or masked stranger that might have pulled you over in an unmarked car - by ramming you - you’re supposed to just assume this is law enforcement. WTF

I hope to one day reach the level of gaming industry clout where people ask me for my opinion on shit like physical game discs and layoffs at studios I worked at 25 years ago.

Can’t sleep? Simple methods that work: • study hurricane forecast • who hates me • what did i forget • relive supreme humiliation • win 12-yr-old argument • buried alive? could happen • what i did vs should have done • dead people i miss • what if i’m bad • why do i say stuff • what’s my fuckin deal

Trump doesn’t force people to do bad things. All he did was show people they could get away with being horrible if they really wanted to, and a lot of powerful people decided they didn’t need to pretend anymore. Especially those in influential positions who could push back but did not.

he is not being covered as if he is a terminally unpopular lame duck because the media sees him attempting a coup and attempting to rig elections and think it would be more fun to help him do that than it would be to help stop him

President Trump's net job approval of -25 is lower than Joe Biden's net approval at this stage of his presidency, and lower than Biden ever reached. (@dhmontgomery.com @today.yougov.com) More, via Opinion Today: opiniontoday.substack.com/p/260708-top...
