Not to mention that in places with a bikeway, bikes are easily approaching and exceeding car volumes. It's a very efficient use of road space.

Only about 1% of all of Toronto's road space is allocated to bike lanes. I showed my work, and used Danforth (the lanes he fought so hard to get added) as an example.
This should really piss us off. Mark Carney told the money class at his summit in Toronto he was going to asset flip our airports before telling Canadians. He short-circuited discussion and input from Canadians in his race to enrich the investor class. #CdnPoli #SnakesInSuits #BarbariansAtTheGate

Last yr, ICE detained & deported Mario Guevara after he filmed police at a No Kings Rally. Early this yr, ICE detained Estefany Rodriguez, released after major pressure from lawmakers, media, grassroots. Other media figures remain detained like Yakub Vijandre. Outrage & challenge are essential now.
I just learned that reporter Luis Galeano has been detained in Miami by ICE. This is part of wider trend by the US govt to target immigrant reporters, violating core US press freedom principles. Galeano is from Nicaragua & is believed to have a pending asylum case in the US. I will report more ASAP.
I learned during my adventures in total knee replacement that they have a fresh monthly list of procedures exempted from OHIP every month. Cries of “No no I have this every month, it’s covered” went unheeded.
Booked an appt with an ortho surgeon today for a diagnostic cortisone shot for a hip injury, which was prescribed by my other ortho. The admissions clerk told me, “It is covered by OHIP, but there’ll be a $25 surcharge payable the day of the appointment.” Yeah. Get your wallets out, Ontario.

Canada is not for sale. Yet from health care to airports, water and public infrastructure, the door is being opened to privatize the things Canadians built and paid for together. Public services should serve the public, not shareholders.

This is not the standard by which Carney’s summit will ultimately be judged, but I can’t think of many high-profile government-hosted events made more opaque to those trying to cover it.

An important thing to add to this IMO, is the fact that countries like Nigeria were British creations. Nigeria did not exist before the land and people were cobbled together to form a British colony.
