Excellent blog by Kadji Amin on how the US fascist regime's attacks on trans people are no distraction but "at the heart of a three-pronged strategy for the creation of an anti-social authoritarian state": concentrate power, feed culture war, defund social programs. lpeproject.org/blog/how-ant...

How Anti-Trans Attacks Forge the Anti-Social State

The Trump Administration's anti-trans policies should be seen as central, rather than peripheral, to the creation of what Melinda Cooper has called “an anti-social state” — a state that would abandon…

LSBU is one of those universities, which is why our dispute is of national significance. To add insult to injury, the latest version of the 'Academic Transformation' plan presents this as an 'individual decision' that new staff can now make: join a crappy DC scheme or join no scheme at all. Even.

Universities up and down the UK are quietly moving staff out of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme to cut costs. Christine Blower co-chair of our Parliamentary Group, put it straight to the government. Pensions aren’t a cost cutting exercise. They’re staff’s terms and conditions. Hands off.

Amazing victory for comrades at Sheffield Hallam, whose extended industrial action halted management plans for a subsidiary which would have seriously undermined working conditions & pension entitlements. A powerful message for us at LSBU & nationally, showing what collective strength can achieve

Trans people have understood this for a very long time: we raised the alarm repeatedly calling out this trans-eliminationist agenda. We have pointed to the intimate links across a proliferation of such agendas. Embedding and expanding solidarities is more urgent than ever

Do people understand yet that this was never about reasonable concerns. That no compromise would ever be enough for them. They want to be able to actively discriminate against us. They want us not to exist.

Just moved to LSBU where they propose to: move most staff to teach only contracts outside collective bargaining, impose workloads in excess of national agreements, make senior lecturers re-apply for a reduced number of lower grade posts, employ new contracts through a subsidiary. We are the canaries

'“LSBU has launched one of the most serious attacks on academic staff in higher education,” said LSBU UCU branch secretary Federica Ross. “If these measures are allowed to proceed, they risk setting a dangerous precedent. That is why we are fighting to stop them.”' 1/3

In these ghoulish tactics, we can see the true hate--how they fear and loathe our humanity, our legendary hospitality, our inexhaustible generosity, our dust-stained fingers, our calloused hands reaching again and again into the rubble. They aim to destroy humanity itself. They will not succeed.

Human in the genocide
To the drone flying above,
replaying a man's cry,
"Help, I'm injured"
in Libnan, or the wordless
wail of a baby in Gaza,
yes I know these people
are most likely fictional
traps to get one to crawl
 out of rubble and into
a sniper's scope-
you are asking, who
will die for the chance
 to be human? And if
no one answers,
you will report: no people
are left in the area, mission
accomplished. Yet I
have seen, over and over,
my kin hurrying on hands
 and knees into death
for the chance, however
slim, to recover the buried,
the brutalised and broken,
with love in their hearts
and a curse on their lips.
Praise God! Praise God!
We will never be defeated

Has anyone written a review of the restructuring going on across UK HE? Trying to understand what is common across institutions: large, team-taught courses, centralised workload models, limited to no research time, promotion directly tied to grant income. How many consultancy firms are pushing this?

Palestine Action activists granted bail Activists released on bail include four hunger strikers. “Despite the state’s best efforts to break each and every one of them, they will walk out today with their heads held high,” - Filton24 Defence Committee www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/2/...

Once again Hilary Cass on the BBC weaponising notions of 'care' & 'best interests of the child' to insist (with no evidence) that only a tiny number of children presenting at gender clinics are 'really' trans & that 'locking them in' a trans trajectory is harmful. Trans eliminationism at its finest.

The Cass Review’s purpose is graphically demonstrated today. The drivel Cass spouted about social media and trans kids is unquestioningly reported in mainstream media, with no fact-checking or opportunity for trans people to challenge this hooey… 1/3
