Latest Duke 3D (Anniversary World Tour Edition) playthrough complete, & the Cycloid Incinerator is still a big disappointment. Everything else about the 5th chapter is huge fun, but a recoloured Cycloid Emperor with a short range attack & ample room to keep your distance? Underwhelming.

My attempt at "Damn, I'm Good" difficulty didn't even last a level; the corpse revival mechanic is *rough*. So, playing on "Come Get Some", & randomly thinking a camp Duke could be fun. There’s something beautiful about the way architecture creates a frame of its own. At Stoke Newington, the darkness of the tunnel surrounds the London Overground train, leaving only two bright headlights, like a pair of happy eyes announcing its arrival.

I must be feeling better, as a thought of "maybe Linda has a kink" has snowballed into "Rachael loves indulging it", "it's not inherently sexual", & "Tara's curiosity about it keeps getting the best of her". I can sow that seed right now, & the kink theme seed, too. I suddenly love writing again.

Also belatedly realised 1 of the landmarks will require me to concoct a little history for the city. You don't put up a huge statue of someone without very good reason. Details, details, so many details. 😋

Feeling miserable, resentful, generally in a pretty black place, especially with regard to my creativity. One of those days it feels far more like a curse than a blessing. Really hoping Glensfour & co can help me through this.
Increasingly hard to know what to think about all this. Seems like no-one involved is fully acting or speaking in good faith. And that's unlikely to end well for anyone.

9/11, for me, was definitely a pivotal moment. It was the moment the West 1st felt real fear, really understood what their choices & actions had created, & they lashed out in that fear, & anger, craving revenge, & haven't stop lashing out since, escalating endlessly. It was the start of the end.

This will likely tie in to how I detail how long it's been between the 2 books, & what's happened in that time.
