Clean indoor air is helpful against disease all the time, not just episodicly "in a pandemic". We treat drinking water *all the time*, not just during cholera outbreaks. Until we get over this medical/reactive mindset, airborne pandemics will continue. Put engineers in charge of public health!

2. Clean indoor air: helpful in a pandemic and good for health and learning at all times (and not just in schools but other buildings too) 3. Effective public health measures: testing, contact tracing, support for isolation, communication, etc 10/12

Millions will lose access to healthcare if work requirements become required for Medicaid. As a Medicaid recipient, I am terrified I will lose my health insurance. They already tried this in my state years ago and so many people were going to lose coverage that they got rid of the requirements.

I am once again begging able-bodied people to start caring about disability rights, disability justice, and disability history. You should care because ableism is bad whether you're a target of it or not, but under a fascist government, all leftists are disabled.

The Trump administration is tossing aside key guidance that federal officials have used to steer enforcement of the Americans with Disabilities Act for more than a decade. #disabilities #ADA #Olmstead

1. In major news, the Ohio Dem Party has banned the Progressive Caucus from criticizing candidate for Gov. Amy Acton's transphobia. It has now applied more pressure to quiet criticism of anti-trans politics than it has on its own nominee to stop embracing them. Subscribe to support our journalism.

I remain sickened and depressed by how much protection abusers have to victimize ever more women and girls when they're not being outright celebrated/rewarded for it. The extensive trail of broken bodies and souls they're able to leave before encountering a whisper of a consequence or a limit

The bad air quality, heat waves, & the spread of multiple infectious diseases all disproportionately impact disabled people. And all three of them can also make you disabled. Health is political, whether you want it to be or not. Please wear a mask if you're able to and stay safe.

She also famously downplays recommendations against drinking while pregnant, and will tell people in power anything they want to, as long as she gets visibility and money out of it. The pandemic has pushed out a lot of these types of people, but Oster is a particularly repellent example.

Annie Heffernan@annieheff.bsky.social · 3w ago

Neither the NYT nor Oster (of *course* it's Oster) saw fit to mention that Oster is not, in fact, a public health expert. Rather, she's an economics professor most known for aggressively pushing in-person learning at the height of the pandemic

Before the election, when listing the marginalized people who would be targeted by a Trump administration, people frequently left out disabled people. And now every week there's another attack on disability rights. Yet unsurprisingly, it's mostly just disabled people talking about it.

I will never get over the fact that conservative men constantly talk about how women's domestic labor had no financial value But they also shit themselves when they discovered anti ice protests had food, coffee, and hand sanitizer stations And called it "military grade logistics"

Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and Joan Sebastian Guerrero weren't murdered because of car pursuits. They were murdered because the men driving those cars felt comfortable recklessly killing. None of this ends until we shut down ICE completely.
