Got some exciting news to share onstream today, then we'll be playing some indie games! No natural light allowed (and not just because it looks like it's about to storm here).

We use the free version of Yarn to manage the Dialog in Art Attack and it's amazing. Definitely leave a review if you bought it.
If we could ask a quick favour of any Yarn Spinner user, it would be for those who have purchased YS+ to leave a review. Less than 1% of purchases have left a review. Y'all game devs know how much reviews make a difference, and tools are no different. Help us stand out among AI-coded slop 🙏

Already noticed some AAA games from the last few years slipping in quality due to the attack on labourers by the wealthy class and uh... I think gamers need to know it's gonna keep deteriorating in small ways, not a big bang Games will still drop for a while, but they'll be quietly worse
Everything is being run by people who have absolutely no curiosity about how the conditions of their reality have come to be whatsoever.
"why can't we find any senior devs to hire" because you fired all the entry level people 5 years ago gerald

Apple charges people ~20% more than the Patreon list price and they keep the difference for themselves. They also hold the proceeds of iOS app sales for 75 days, making it impossible for creators to accurately predict earnings. They basically inserted themselves in order to rip *more* people off
Any of you using the ios version of Patreon to support me, switch to the browser version instead, cuz the apple fees have actually taken over 3000 usd from me in the course of a year
In the game room today! Been doing the Portable Kaiju (Pokémon) League! Might host some Jackbox later! #Otakon
Hey #Otakon Day 0 folks: anyone wanna play MTG? We're at the Marriott Marquis bar!

Reminder that Community Game Night is tonight this week because I'm going to @otakon.bsky.social tomorrow! In the meantime, have a eco-friendly (aka recycled) joke from last Saturday's game night.
TFW to your dismay your project compiles and functions exactly how your programmed it to.
I know the industry is in a dire state right now for jobs but If any indie studios see this and need an additional programmer, PLEASE let me know ASAP! my partner @barndone.bsky.social is a great generalist programmer and needs a home! Vancouver on 1 salary isn't going to cut it for long 😓
The difference between a soulless, cartoonishly evil buisness that only values maximizing profit to a deranged level vs some of the incredibly talented people they threw under the bus to achieve that goal.
an xbox spokesperson shared the following statement: "don't blame us don't blame us we only managed and wholly owned the company for six full years tell them it's someone else's fault please"
got a statement from Xbox on this and, woof kotaku.com/double-fine-...
The anti-data center movement is like "I don't want to pay more money for a thing that will not benefit me at all and will actively make my life measurably worse in a bunch of ways" and the pro-data center movement is like "We want it to be illegal for you to not like us."
😬
Gonna show off this build onstream this evening, then we'll be playing Slay The Spire 2 multiplayer with @crowdcontrol.live!

Aaaah, second review! I've really never been as nervous about any release as this one and it turns out educational programs take much longer to get reviews for than games, so it is really help calm my nerves that the first responses are so good. Thanks, Elise!
Pretty happy with this build! If you're subscribed to the Patreon, please lemme know what you think; I wanna get some feedback before I make this public to the rest of the Steam playtesters.

for anyone curious - i've found "that's a weird thing to say" to be a really effective line at opening dialogue it doesn't quite offend people, but they feel the need to defend/explain themselves or at the least engage me when they've entered their "reasoning position", that's when i engage
what I have found though, is people vulnerable to or have recently entered the alt-right belief system/pipeline are relatively easy to pull out of it because they've never had their ideas challenged, and they've never been asked to articulate their reasoning a little education goes a long way
one of the most important things you need to do when developing a new product, especially in tech, is sit down and think about how it can be misused by bad actors and nowadays it sure seems like the bad actors are less “people to be guarded against” and more “the target customer base”
FWIW, Meta was fully aware of how these glasses would primarily be used. The glasses were designed to erase consent, and that is why they exist. Anything that they do that suggests they want to ameliorate this use is an attempt to win the PR battle and manipulate public opinion.

Blue Bottle Games, as a policy, does not use generative AI. It's something we've discussed as a team, weighing the pros and cons, and ultimately, we decided it was not for us. Recently, while chatting with a colleague, she mentioned it was useful hearing our reasoning. So: Sharing time! 1/12
