I have just seen on the Sussex cricket website that @glamcricket.bsky.social will not be streaming the Metro Bank One Day cup fixture between the two women's sides from Neath tomorrow. 8 can't understand why as they streamed both men's games played there in the last week or so.

That's situational isn't it? If Gibson wasn't captain, if she didn't have that price tag, she doesn't bowl that over, because she currently isn't executing well enough to be allocated. But with a batting failure behind her she feels she has to justify her role & salary and loses her team the game.

Righteous from Andrew on the ODI WC stitch up. As well as the EAP issue he mentions in the T20 qualifying, there are 5 teams from Asia, so if those teams filled the first 5 positions then the team that finished 5th would be eliminated, while 4 teams that finished below them would progress.

The rumours getting louder about the ICC deciding to cut down the number of teams in the men's ODI World Cup. Basically strategy is that tests are for the big 3, ODIs are for the full members, and the rest of the world can only ever aspire to play T20. For women, it's the same but smaller amounts.

Not that anyone reads these things, just realised this can be misconstrued. The point was even if ENG had a red ball competition for practice for this Test, it wouldn't yielded immediate dividends. But at the same time, the long term gains you can achieve by playing the red ball game are immense.

Except for Satghare, this IND XI didn't play in this edition of domestic red ball iirc. ENG can't suddenly become better at Tests even with a competition. However, even if you don't play Tests, playing red ball cricket is helpful for the development of their game. Better basics, better discipline.
