"Almost." D'lagan pulled away, and moved to the desk to a tome left open. He picked it up and held it out for G'raha to examine. The pages inside looked almost new, though G'raha wasn't sure if it was meant to look new, with the words written upon the pages clearly a much older text, snaking back and forth. G'raha squinted at the text, not as well versed in things not Allagan in nature. There was something familiar, just out of reach.

M’halku brought this on himself, he knows, insisting they rescue the nearly dead creature when they found him on their way out of Gyr Abania. In truth, he thought the kit would perish at Schism, they’d give him a burial and a send-off, and that would be the end of it. In all his days, he’d never seen a case of burnout that bad, and he hopes it never happens again.

If only the kit would listen to him instead of testing his boundaries.

i know this has been memed to death, but two things: 1. graha actively does NOT get reimbursed bc he doesnt want to do the paperwork for it 2. maybe the money we get as quest rewards is supposed to be the reimbursement, after a fashion, lmao. it's just headcanon honestly, but fun thought

speaking of aetherytes, those teleportation fees do add up after a while...which is why i tended to rely on the far cheaper ferry services. i was pleasantly surprised when mistress tataru informed me that the scions are reimbursed for transportation costs as part of our duties, but i find old habits are hard to break. that, and i'd rather not be bothered filling out the necessary paperwork.
