Call Me Maybe

Hoping to give more to this world than I take. I love reading, taking pictures of the sky, corgis, makeup, and interesting conversation. Blue dot in a very red West Texas town. If you DM me, I’ll ignore it. Prefer not to be in starter packs.

This is why this is not just about Max Miller. It’s about “devout Christian” House Republican leadership who is standing with this guy because they crave power above all else. It’s the culture of MAGA and it comes straight from Trump. Vote them out.

In Nov. 2024, the Chinese govt arrested Dr. Youlin Chen, an American citizen & scientist, on bogus claims of espionage.   Dr. Chen has spent nearly 2 years in pretrial detention & his family is concerned for his health.   I call on the Chinese govt to release Dr. Chen immediately & unconditionally.

U.S. seismologist has been detained in China for nearly 2 years with no trial, his family says

The relatives of Youlin Chen of Boston broke their silence this week, apparently after they saw no sign from the Chinese government that it was planning to release him.

Among other problems, the bill would impose or incentivize age-verification systems, restrict young people’s access to lawful information, and create risks that adults could lose access to accounts or data after being mistakenly identified as minors. www.eff.org/deeplinks/20...

The SCREEN Act is the biggest threat to your right to free, anonymous speech, ever. That this bill is very likely to be signed into law should send a chill down everyone's spines. Within the next month (or sooner), it will be the single most talked about topic in America - and rightfully so.

The SCREEN Act, which will go for a full
committee markup next Wednesday, on its own
would force every single adult in the US to do ID/
age verification. With that would come mass
censorship & surveillance over the last bit of
freedom and information we have - the internet.

Susan Collins announcing she'll vote against a controversial nominee is basically the moment it becomes clear that nominee will be confirmed. It means Thune has enough votes to confirm, and thus, Collins gets a pass to look independent.

honestly can't stress enough, as a former family law attorney, how depressingly common Max Miller's behavior and words are, right down to the petty fixation on custody procedure and rules when faced with allegations of shocking violence.

Rep. Max Miller: "When I was reported for child abuse of my daughter for a broken collarbone, my daughter was in my ex-wife's care 9 out of the last 11 days and she took her to the emergency room, which is a contempt violation from our shared parenting plan."

"Being a combat veteran, having served in war to then be abused and assaulted by National Guardsmen at home has deeply decreased my ability to sleep again. I'm having nightmares daily," King says. She says she will continue to protest the presence of the National Guard in the city.”

"Get away from me right now," King, a retired U.S. Army captain who served in Iraq and earned both a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star, can be heard telling the three male guard members in the video as they approach her on the bench. "You have absolutely no authority to detain me."

😳 Rep. Pete Stauber indicates there's something gravely wrong with Tom Emmer's health: "You have no idea what Congressman Emmer is dealing with right now. If you did, you would've never made that comment. He's fighting for his damn life today!"

I read something so disturbing at work today that I actually threw up. And I want to forget about it but I just cannot. And no matter what, we cannot deny this person care or services. But he should not be walking among us.

Tapper: "There are now three women who have accused you of violent behavior…Are all three of these women who don't know each other lying?" Rep. Max Miller: "Yes…It's all hearsay." Tapper: "It's not hearsay if it is firsthand testimony from women."

TAPPER: The story says when you were picked up for drunk driving, you have ecstasy in your system. When is last time you used illegal drugs? MILLER: I mean, the last time -- I don't know, several years ago? TAPPER: Two? 20? MILLER: This is testosterone replacement theory. Secretary Hegseth ...
