Just FYI Haley Stevens had approx 70M spent on her behalf in the primary, and roughly 30 to 35M of that is from AIPAC, while 12-15M is from "A Stronger Michigan" and 7-10M is from "Center for Democratic Priorities" and we don't know (yet?, forever?) who their donors are.

Hypervisible @hypervisible.blacksky.app · 8h agoFlock has justifiably received tons of outrage, but Axon (and a bunch of other companies) are also purveyors of mass surveillance. Canceling a Flock contract and replacing it with an Axon one is just changing your flavor of authoritarianism.
Surveillance as a tool needs be understood in the context of the state being a machine that enforces class domination. Bourgeoisie aren’t sweating speeding tickets and their other crimes aren’t getting caught by Flock cameras
any discussions about surveillance and civil liberties should be downstream of what cops actually are (mafia with zero civilian control or accountability) and not what they hypothetically should be

But Flock being used for ICE stuff when the city paying for the equipment hasn’t agreed to that is a legit objection to the firm.
There’s no surveillance infrastructure that isn’t sharing data with ICE, because there’s no version of surveillance infrastructure that wouldn’t have a litany of incentives to do this
