Increasing the capacity of a junction for cars has never solved congestion anywhere in the world ever! It simply makes it worse, due to induced-demand

Trial changes at Lothianburn Junction don't seem to have given a second thought to cycle safety. Cycling south, you either stay in the left lane and get blocked by a line of cones, or move the right lane (as instructed) for maximum exposure to vehicles switching lanes.

It's now illegal to use e-scooters on public roads without wearing high-vis and a helmet. But what does that actually mean? You must now wear a high-vis vest and a bicycle helmet on an e-scooter (see details below). But in a very Irish way of doing things, it's not yet a finable offence, so if you're stopped, you should only get a warning at most for now.
