Martine Syms' "The African Desperate" is excellent. Fundamentally just watchable, not insulting its audience. Smart, entertaining, not dry and inert. The lead actress is oustanding
The african desperate Loved this movie! Just such an interesting aesthetic style and tone, very very funny. It's definitely more of a vibes based movie, quite directionless, just follow our main character through a kinda fun, kinda miserable final day of art school. And what a main character.

I had the profound pleasure of seeing Penny Lane’s documentary “Wild Inside” at the former Waverly (now IFC) downtown last week. And I cannot recommend this to you enough. It’s a wonderful memento to our sweet Flaco and his year of flying free, full of gorgeous photography and food for thought.
