Thirty-four days before she reported to prison, Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes gave Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim access to document her every move. That turned into a three-year project, and A24 will release the resulting documentary this October.

Martine Syms' "The African Desperate" is excellent. Fundamentally just watchable, not insulting its audience. Smart, entertaining, not dry and inert. The lead actress is oustanding
The african desperate Loved this movie! Just such an interesting aesthetic style and tone, very very funny. It's definitely more of a vibes based movie, quite directionless, just follow our main character through a kinda fun, kinda miserable final day of art school. And what a main character.

I Shot Andy Warhol (1996). Been renewing my interest in Valerie Solanas, hadn’t seen this for 30 years - pretty good it is, scumbags.
This weekend I saw films about arguably the two quintessential New Yorkers: Valerie Solanas and Flaco the Owl.

So cool to see Penny Lane’s WILD INSIDE @theavalondc.bsky.social and relive the yearlong, real-life Pixar movie that was Flaco’s life in NYC. It overflows with charm and humor - loved it. 🦉📽️
I had the profound pleasure of seeing Penny Lane’s documentary “Wild Inside” at the former Waverly (now IFC) downtown last week. And I cannot recommend this to you enough. It’s a wonderful memento to our sweet Flaco and his year of flying free, full of gorgeous photography and food for thought.

This Friday, a movie called HORSEGIRLS goes into limited release. I saw it last year at Tribeca and really liked it. The premise is kooky but - to my surprise - totally based on a real thing! Here's my review: aisleseat.com/horsegirls.h... #filmsky

ok i'm going to regret asking this but can anyone direct me to a not-racist or, failing that, least-racist explanation of what the hell is going on with Ceuta?
🧵 What is REALLY happening at the Ceuta border in Spain? It is not just a migration crisis—it is a textbook example of hybrid warfare, where human movement is weaponized for geopolitical leverage to destabilise Europe. Here is a breakdown of the players 👇
Why is Ceuta a migration flashpoint and how were so many people able to cross from Morocco?
An estimated 50,000 people attempted the journey to the Spanish territory in chaotic and dangerous scenes that resulted in dozens of deaths
