Tonight while going out to pick up Chinese carryout dinner I spied the first set of trick or treaters I have seen on this street in almost a decade, and of course we didn't bother buying candy because I lost my optimism years ago. I hope they got a good haul from the rest of the street.
915 emails in my spam folder currently, and at least 800 of them appear to be from Democrats begging for money. Josh Turek's campaign has officially outspammed the "Your Cloud account payment has failed and we're deleting your files" people. I am impressed. (/derogatory)
Mundane Halloween returns! Halloween is great, but the greatest part of Halloween is the annual "mundane Halloween" costume contest sponsored by Japanese website @dailyportalz Here is a thread of some of my favorites from this year...
I had no plans for tomorrow, but now my plans are to stay in, color kitties, and drink wine while I cuddle my stuffed Vampurr.
still don’t know what to do on halloween night? well, i have an idea: color some poorly drawn cats! spookitties is my new halloween themed coloring ebook, filled with spooky (and silly) little cats! poorlycatdraw.gumroad.com/l/spookitties 🎃
If I were a DoJ lawyer, I would not have been feeling great about how the hearing was going to go for me with an opening like this. To be fair, they did this to themselves.
Ok! That was quite the opening. Judge Reyes started by reading from the bar rules about attorneys’ duty of candor to a judge.
[Calvin’s dad voice] There are two types of millennials. 9/11ials and Obamials. Emo/Screamo and St Louis Hip Hop? 9/11ial. Stomp clap hey?, Obamial. Homestar Runner, 9/11ial. Le epic baconz, Obamial. Despite coming out before The Wire, West Wing is Obamial and The Wire is 9/11ial
We hope your CPSC AO3 stories are right where you left them when this is all over.

ok, well, one of the hill bars (senate side) where staffers hang on the regular seems to have decided which way things are going lmao
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
It shouldn't come as a shock when a man dies at 86, but I'm floored. I somehow never imagined that I would live in a world without Captain Picard in it. Thank you for everything, Sir Patrick. www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie...
This is one of the dumbest things I've run into on this site, and I've been around long enough to have Seen Some Things. (For Bonus Dumb, just try and guess what this is in response to.)
Oh, I am for sure interested in relying on Proton's products now. /s
SCOOP: Proton CEO Andy Yen to his staff: “Stop lovingly handcrafting all our code and use AI more.” 404 Media saw these internal messages, in which he also said it was "loser thinking" to an employee who urged the company to at least take a few days to test newly written code before going live.

Yesterday’s hearing was such a wild ride that at one point, a colleague in the media room threw up his hands and exclaimed, “What else could happen??” We’ll find out soon. The hearing resumes at 9 a.m. ET. I’ll be covering it all for @lawfaremedia.org. Follow along! 🧵🧵🧵⬇️👇
Have a nice long thread of eye candy. I have gained an even greater appreciation for Vincent Price, I have to admit.
People has named Sexiest Man Alive, so it’s time for vintage nerds to name their Sexiest Man Dead! In past contests, Toshiro Mifune and Paul Newman have taken top honors. Who are your picks?
I stopped reading the site on a regular basis a while ago, but going forward I'm not giving them any more traffic at all. This is gross.
Given that @file770.bsky.social has decided to platform Jon Del Arroz, I will no longer be writing pieces for them. It's an easy equation. A place that welcomes someone that has harassed me for years is not a place I want to be associated with. file770.com/world-fantas...
