PR for venue that used to regularly run 16/35: We're relaunching our film program! Me: Cool! Venue PR: With themed snacks! People: Uh oh... Venue website, whispering: And screenings from DVDs. People: Yeah......well... Good luck, I guess?

Early on @coyotemedia.org made a list of dream bylines we'd LOVE to have on the site and @annaleen.bsky.social was one of the first on it for me. So stoked to see this piece about ~~speculative transit~~ and big dreams for the Bay Area. www.coyotemedia.org/funding-bay-...

A Modest Proposal for Funding Transit Instead of AI

In the ’60s, the Bay Area almost got a high-speed train from Marin to San Jose. What could happen if we dreamed big again?

If you know someone who lives in the Bay Area can you do me a favor? Send them this calendar? I work really hard on it every week and think it's a genuinely useful thing, but I feel like it's so hard to get the word out!!! www.coyotemedia.org/coyote-calen...

COYOTE Calendar: July 30-August 5

This week we've got alien costumes, several forms of magic, bratwurst throwing, Yiddish puppetry, and something described as “intelligent, leaky, erotic, and alive.”

the proper way to learn a bartender's name is to accidentally become a regular and either figure it out when someone else says it or let so much time pass that it would be really awkward to ask them and then just bring your annoying friend who is the type of person that immediately asks

Always weary when a new customer at the bar asks me my name like right away, sometimes before they even order anything. Give it a second there, pal. You can’t shortcut being an actual regular by just knowing my name.

Quick thinking having a tablecloth handy. I didn’t even notice the twitching from that dead robot.

Just want everyone to know you don't need to worry because I went to see Howard Hawks's Monkey Business to make sure and, yes, Cary Grant is still hot.
