Sex Matters has lost a challenge today against the National Police Chief's Council and British Transport Police. With another High Court judgment expected at 2PM on whether or not the PATHWAYS puberty blocker trial should go ahead, let's hope GC activists go two for two on publicly failing.

I find the idea that any lawful viewpoint must be platformed just a wild approach to public policy. GC beliefs are protected in the same breath as being against gay marriage, it’s the same principle. Does it mean any event they apply to must under all circs put on a panel for them to espouse that?

Make no mistake, what the "gender critical" movement wanted was to force Féile Belfast into compliance through lawfare. That is their modus operandi when it comes to dealing with any org that shows a scintilla of support for trans people. They lost this time, and they're struggling to cope with it.

I am disappointed but not surprised that the men of the Feile team took to social media to gloat and crow about their intransigence. There was no win for them and representing it that way is disingenuous. WRN wished for Feile to WANT to reinstate our panel discussion rather than be FORCED to. However despite cancelling our event, Feile provided us with a platform far bigger than merely west Belfast to get our message heard across Northern Ireland and further afield. Conversations about whether women have the right to speak openly and honestly, about whether a publicly funded organisation - regardless of its origins - should ensure it represents ALL lawful viewpoints and experiences, and demonstrate for the world to see just exactly who is trying to marginalise who here. Who knew women were such a threat! Respect, rights and reality - I’ll buy you a dictionary.

The anti-trans group LGB Alliance posted this to Twitter, and I find it genuinely funny. Once you read the methodology section on their survey, it's clear that this survey only tells you that people who already support this group... agree with the group.

LGB Alliance "We surveyed lesbian, gay and bisexual people. 94% felt uncomfortable being categorized under the LGBTQ+ umbrella. 87% felt uncomfortable being categorised as "queer.""SURVEY METHODS Sample: On 4th May 2023, a link to a Google Form survey was emailed to 7,021 LGB Alliance supporters. These were individuals who subscribed to the LGB Alliance newsletter, had attended one or more LGB Alliance events or who had made donations to the charity. 2,133 responses were received. This response rate of 30% is reasonable for a survey of this type. Questionnaire and screening: The landing page explained the survey was for lesbian, gay and bisexual supporters of LGB Alliance. The aims were described as, ‘to help us understand the attitudes that LGB Alliance supporters have around common terms used to categorise LGB people. The findings of this survey will help us advocate more effectively for the needs of LGB people.’ It was explained that the survey would be kept confidential in accordance with GDPR, and that their personal information is protected by law. A contact email was provided for those who wanted more information. The first two questions were screening questions. Non-supporters were screened out at Q1: ‘This survey is for LGB supporters of LGB Alliance. Before we start the survey, can you confirm you are a supporter of LGB Alliance?’ Those who indicated they were not a supporter, didn’t know, or preferred not to say were screened out. A scan of responses to the open-ended questions suggested there were a tiny number of individuals who appeared to be detractors rather than supporters of LGB Alliance who continued with the survey. All those who answered ‘yes’ at Q1 were included in the analysis as they would not have altered the results due to their very small numbers. A trans girl in the UK will face consistent messages she's not accepted & doesn't belong from a young age. Toilet segregation, banned from sports, banned from Brownies, denied healthcare. school's free to outright deny her identity. Treated literally as subhuman. Because of Labour.

This will damage relationships, damage attendance and attainment, cause some children to drop out. It is "safeguarding" guidance that will directly harm a vulnerable minority of children. Trans children deserve so much better than this.
