A 120 panel grouping of Jerry's Map is at the Grand Rapids Art Museum through October 18th. I am thrilled and thankful for their ongoing support of my artistic practice. Mid-way through the exhibit, we'll swap out these panels from 2013-17 with new ones to show how much the Map has changed.

Blanche illustrated all four of Steve Jacksonโ€™s โ€œSorceryโ€ books - just amazing, weird, beautiful and strange pen and ink drawings unlike anything Iโ€™d seen before. Amazing creatures conjured up from Jacksonโ€™s text descriptions. Magic.

A rocky landscape, with a castle in the distance. A prisoner sits lonely in a squalid cell, lit by candlelight. An ogre torturer. Some weird statue creature? Itโ€™s been a while.

Hugely sad. We've lost John Blanche. It's hard to know where to begin. He set fire to a generation's imagination, and those fires show no sign of stopping burning. His work very much illuminated the darkness.

No bullshit, Ultimates 23 is going to go down as one of the most beautiful Thor issues of all time. Get yourself a copy, even if you're not reading the book, even if you hate my work. It's magnificent, operatic, and epic in the classical sense. A brutal mythology on the page.
