from the land of sky blue waters. fan of human rights, live music, and dogs. crop artist. mediocre curler and softball player. she/her.
A most excellent crop artist just told me she almost made crop art of me in my uniform, and I was like what? She almost made crop art of me in my Team USA hockey jersey dancing at curling in the NBC Olympics reel. 🤣 Honestly i am honored to be considered lol. youtube.com/shorts/iuuXD...

Me, walking by a neighbor: OMG is your Lil My license plate moomin related? Neighbor young teen (pretends he doesn’t hear and ducks into car) Dad driving: yes! Me: I’m sorry I talked to your kid and ruined his life. 😁 But also I had to say something because I’m wearing a Moomin skirt right now!
Absolutely gorgeous evening to be outside in Saint Paul
This gas station is one mile from my house. This is what ICE did to Henriquez Serrano, a guy just getting gas on his way to work. Abolish and prosecute ICE.
This is the gas station our family uses most often, and for months after, our kids wouldn't want to stop there because they were so freaked over what had happened. The whole topography of the city changed for them.
In 2023 (the dawn of AI?), the Minnesota State Fair went the other direction and commissioned a crop-art piece by Liz Schreiber as that year’s commemorative art. Entirely created by hand, from real seeds, the work was so impressive the Fair stopped commissioning commemorative art.
The Ohio State Fair had a poster contest. The winner was awarded $1000. I present to you, the winner:
Hey MSP—anyone recognize this good boy? He was found in my neighborhood yesterday and doesn’t have a microchip. Link to lost dogs FB page. More info in alt text. www.facebook.com/share/p/18rZ...
And the tour is set, the demons will soon be loose. Come see me! More details at the ye olde bloggery hut: terribleminds.com/ramble/2026/...

can we sometimes be asking "what qualifies this guy to speak on this subject?" or has that ship sailed
In light of Hank Green disappointing us all, a thread of science communicators that do not brainlessly parrot LLMs as reference. Miniminuteman. A Tiktok import who now posts long form archeological/pseudoarcheology-debunking vids to YouTube. They're fantastic. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFA4...

One of the strengths of Minnesota's voting system is the ability to have a neighbor vouch for your eligibility. It helps people vote, and it's NOT a source of fraud. The witness requirements for absentee ballots are similar.
Because @mprnews.org continues to distribute outdated information about Minnesota's absentee ballot witness requirement, I want to restate the actual requirement. As always, the best advice is to follow the official instructions. The witness can be any U.S. citizen who will be 18 by election day.
AI is a trap. It will sometimes give you great accurate info so your brain thinks it can rely on it and when you’re in a rush, you just skip some of the checks. But it’s just a pattern guessing tool and people need to stop believing AI KNOWS anything. Disappointing that Hank Green fell for it.
Hank Green admitting to using A.I. in research and scriptwriting does unfortunately explain why they released a video on HRT full of (sometimes outright dangerous) misinformation
Clive stops after a few steps on the start of every walk. He has me trained to smooth out the hair on his belly where the harness hits before he will continue on walkies
I don’t think it’s appropriate to call out on the front page of The Minnesota Star Tribune that the police chief is a “St. Paul native” in relation to his complaint against the mayor, an immigrant.
My kid submitted his first first-author paper and got accepted! He gets to present in Seoul NDSS 2027! Proud parent moment 🥹

Felix, the doofus, has a new terrible trick: when I call him to come inside by the side door, he realizes he hasn’t peed yet so he quick pees on the hostas near the door, but he starts to run inside before he’s done, peeing on himself and my leg in the process.
My phone widget today gave me highlights of my photos at a Kat Perkins concert at the MN State Fair. Except it was an Atmosphere concert and I’ve never seen Kat Perkins. Apparently she played a free show at the fair that same day. Half ass AI gonna half ass
Sometimes there are delays in getting to the groomer. When that happens, your doodle might come back looking like Clive. But look at his cute little tail!
When the nurse came in to remove the stitches on my forehead, she gasped and said Oh My! and here I thought my two black eyes were looking so much better 😁

The return of the rogue chicken! The neighbors happened to be out. They didn’t seem to care much. I awkwardly noticed the people after I talked to their other (fenced) chicken, telling her that her buddy had escaped again.
I think talking to dogs and chickens just makes my Minnesota accent come out. It might be sticking now, though. Anyway, we reported the loose chicken to the coop owners, who said it was the neighbors’ and they’d try to wrangle it.
OH MY GOD THIS THIS IS WHAT I KEEP TRYING TO PUT INTO WORDS it’s not that absurdly bizarre stuff happens in my vicinity! it’s that i notice stuff happening that other people blank out
ii told this to my manager before we had a Meeting and he was delighted. he asked "how is your street the one where everything happens?" and i had to explain the thing about my type of ADHD is the world being like a kaleidoscope of input with no filter, therefore i notice more weird shit
It seems too soon for the leaves to be changing and falling but this one sure is cute
