All of my favorite Intensivists are women (HANDS DOWN). All of my favorite & most trustworthy coworkers are female (aware i work in an historically female-dominated profession). Many of them are higher achieving, academically, than our male counterparts. Yet, they're often treated as less. Rage.

People are arguing between road design and enforcement. In the Netherlands, not only do they have both, but they have a third tool: presumed liability. Drivers who hit a pedestrian or cyclist are presumed to be at fault until proven otherwise. This would be a powerful tool in our litigious society.
if you want to see normally sclerotic do-nothing local governments suddenly snap into action, do some quietly beneficial tactical urbanism type thing like this and watch how quickly they race to remove it
