Years ago I went a little overboard buying regency-era coffee can sets and English porcelain in general, here are examples. With marks from Derby, circa 1820, all in a typically busy Imari pattern of underglaze blue, iron-red and gilding. The oval plate is a rather nice teapot stand.

Two porcelain coffee cans with ‘London’ handles and matching saucers manufactured during the first quarter of the 19th century at the Derby factory, decorated in blue underglaze with an iron-red, black and gilt imari pattern; with a matching oval teapot stand.
Both saucers and the stand are marked with the red Derby crown and crossed swords factory mark, in use from 1806 to 1826.
The cups: 2 9/16 in. (6.5 cm) in diameter, 3 3/8 in. (8.5 cm) in height. The saucers: 5 5/8 in. (14.3 cm) in diameter and 1 1/4 in. (3.2 cm) in depth. The stand is 7 5/8 in. (19.3 cm) in length and 6 in. (15.2 cm) in width.
One of several popular imari or ‘Japan’ patterns produced by Derby and many other factories during the first quarter of the 19th century, and later.

I've been up since 4. Jet lag! I've exercised, had coffee and breakfast, made lunch, did dishes, read a book, built a syllabus, showered, dressed, came to the office. Morning people, having lived your life? I hate it. 😅

To celebrate her 1648 election as grand mistress of Ghent's St. Elisabeth Beguinage, Maria vanden Haute commissioned a monstrance w/her patron, Mary, at the center. She died in 1675 and was buried in the beige robe of a Dominican tertiary. Want to know more? Check out my new book! h1.nu/1uO-T

Toddler took The Arcades Project off the shelf. The indoctrination has been a success. However, as it turns out, there are not enough pictures to go along with the discussion of the Passage des Panoramas so we will return to this text at a later date.
