The question was asked in the context of the proposal to upzone more parts of D.C., some of which would allow more by-right construction to happen. The D.C. Office of Planning has proposed more upzoning in Ward 3.

I do not like to take credit for “wins.” I’m an ~advocate, and decisionmakers who do the things we support are the ultimate movers. That said, it is notable that the D.C. Council voted unanimously for the One Front Door Act today, which would legalize point-access blocks up to six stories here!

Ideal here: MARC wants to extend to Delaware. SEPTA needs a yard in Delaware so that it doesn't have to deadhead trains from Philly. Buy the same equipment. Build a new shared facility in Delaware that can handle regular maintenance, have an agreement where SEPTA does heavy maintenance in Philly.
