📣 HAPPY MOTH WEEK! 📣 From now until July 26, things are going to be extremely moth-y on this page (prepare yourself). Here's a delightful little moth face (species Xanthodirphia amarilla) to kick things off.

My four favourite facts about the cockchafer beetle: 1. It's called a cockchafer beetle. 2. It’s also sometimes known as a “billywitch”. 3. It’s unusually loud and clumsy by beetle standards and bangs into lots of things when it flies into your house by mistake. 4. It looks like this, close up.

A cockchafer beetle, demonstrating its talent for multitasking by showing us its pad while also listening with great sympathy to our problems.

I hope those load bearing followers know how much they mean to artists. Regulars, esp regular commenters that engage your work and story do not go without notice and are to be cherished. It's esp why I try to reply to let them know! (and why I wish I could keep track of any I've missed replying to )

Fun story and potential tip for artists: find a load boarding follower or two. When my account was brand new and less than 10 people knew I existed I had one follower who would like almost every piece I made. I appreciated his support so much that my partner knew his screenname- 🧵
