To be clear, the Senate version of KOSA passed today is completely different than the House version that passed earlier this year, making it very unlikely to become law. The Senate knows this yet they are committing to the farce of acting on kids safety.
SCREEN failed to pass out of committee, despite a 15-13 vote (in favor). Not enough members voting, but looks like a party line vote. Good work everyone! Keep up the pressure for after recess and beyond!
If SCREEN were to pass, you'd be required to scan your face and upload an ID to access this site because it allows "harmful" material. This affects you even if you don't care about sex work or porn.
A reminder that while you should still absolutely call / email your reps over KOSA, SCREEN, and any other ACTs trying to brute force ID verification, tomorrow is a markup. A markup is not the same as a full Senate vote. Despite what happens on the 5th, it won't be a 'done deal' for a while.
Urging ya’ll to please do this! It only takes about an hour in total to call all these senators. Or, if you don’t want the trouble, just under a minute or so to call your senator listed. Don’t be afraid to tell them what you think, and to emphasize the word NO. They know when you say the word no.
Here is a list of all the Commerce Committee senators who will be voting on KOSA and the SCREEN Act amongst others tomorrow. We need all their phones ringing off the hook in opposition TODAY! You have no excuse. CALL. Even if they're not your senator. Be polite, but tell them to oppose this!
"Bluesky is a political echo chamber" okay but I'm mostly here to chat with fun internet people and post art and make jokes, I cannot stress how much I don't care
never thought short form video would be able to capture a type of humor i can only describe as “the far side-esque” but this comes close.
🚨 Markup of Bad Internet Bills is happening THIS WEDNESDAY. Call your reps today and again tomorrow 🚨‼️ Our call tool makes it easy: www.badinternetbills.com

With the Senate Commerce Committee has a markup of KOSA, the SCREEN Act, and the CHATBOT Act on Wednesday. @fightforthefuture.org's https://www.badinternetbills.com/ is the easiest way to contact your Senator, but there are lots of other options too!
Since Max G has become a current topic, I just wanna point out the time he drew my teen PPG designs. This was during a period on Twitter where a drawing of mine became a subject of controversy, and it was nice seeing a big artist like him stick up for me in a way.
This will be the US if the SCREEN Act passes. Call your Senators before August 5 and tell them that you oppose the SCREEN Act, KOSA, and the KIDS Act. Use the official lookup tool at www.senate.gov/senators/sen... to find yours by state.
9) Izzy for @supemeg.bsky.social 10) Owen Baker for "deluxie" 11) Melissa Melody for "KingLukem" 12) Bill T. Moneybags for @smkfan99.bsky.social (3/4)
I know Max G is a controversial figure, but it’s really disheartening to see someone like him suffer to the point of considering suicide
Popular animator hotdiggedydemon has announced that he plans to travel to Switzerland to undergo physician-assisted euthanasia, citing his deteriorating health, fibromyalgia, chronic uncontrollable drooling, and financial difficulties as the reasons behind his decision.

OK KO premiered 9 years ago?! Today, the show is not available to stream legally but is being kept alive by a devoted fanbase who I hear from all the time. You guys are the best. Thank you for watching the show!
Trying to make anything AI-related to anyone is already bad enough, but trying to get kids to indulge in it is a special level of low. You might as well be treating them like idiots in doing so and children should never be exploited like that.
9 years ago today, ‘OK KO: Let’s Be Heroes’ premiered on Cartoon Network.
It's been a while since I saw a company shoot themselves in the foot badly and Sony doing that with their stupid physical media phase out for PlayStation and stubbornly refusing to move after the backlash is just bewildering. I hope the blowback is harder than before.
today's the last day you can post him don't forget
