When they get back in power, Democrats need to go all-in on higher education. We need a campaign of reinvestment in public universities across the country that makes the Morrill Land-Grant Act look like nothing by comparison *and* a GI Bill of Rights-style program of tuition grants.

Trump is banning students majoring in degrees that don’t make enough money from taking out college loans. Degrees for social work, art, religious studies, teaching aides, and music will be hit the hardest. trib.al/kQdKbY1

That there will only be ONE Olympian from each nation in her event. Olympic sailing has 10 classes/events and each nation only gets one boat per class. She sails a single-handed boat so, she has to be the absolute best in the country before she can even get to the Olympics.

From the athlete’s side, what’s the hardest part of the qualification process for supporters to understand? Wishing Elle well with the campaign and the build-up to that first regatta.

There are endless studies showing this and also the financial and societal benefits of universal basic income and or housing-first policies but the U.S. never goes for any of it because it would require allowing the poor to receive benefits that the rich consider “undeserved”
